The Barn Loft in Marshall was fabulous if you want a quiet place in the woods. The two story loft was cozy and new. The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs with steps outside to get to the bedroom loft. The rocking chairs are fabulous. The best part was the host, Share. She introduced us to the camels on property! We got to feed them and meet the emus on her property before we left. She even gave us fresh eggs and camel soap with our stay. We would definitely recommend it for a unique adventure.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was much more than just a place to stay. The property itself was beautiful, peaceful, and full of unexpected surprises. The host was friendly, communicative, and extremely accommodating. The property was clean and stocked with everything we needed. One of our favorite highlights was discovering the loft is adjacent to a unique camel farm with accompanying emus, ducks, and chickens. This added so much charm and character to the property; it is located a fair distance from the loft, so it gives a farm vibe without actually being on the farm. There is a meet-and-greet with the camels that you do NOT want to miss. The real gem, though, was the incredible swim spot. It was the perfect place to relax, cool off, and enjoy the area's natural beauty. We spent hours there and made some wonderful memories. Everything was well-maintained, and the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxing, and fun for the whole family. If you're looking for a unique getaway with memorable experiences and beautiful surroundings, this is the place, we're at 2 visits and counting! Highly recommend! 🐪🐓🌿

About the host

Hosted by Shareshten Senior

Host profile image
I grew up primarily in upstate New York in farm lands and found myself yearning for that peaceful and simple life with nature once again. I have been in Madison County NC since 2020 and it is just starting to feel like home.

Why they chose this property

The beautiful mountains, hiking trails, wildlife, and serenity have been the best parts of being here.

What makes this property unique

The livestock make my property unique: we have 4 camels which are down the road further past the rentals — you would not know they were there, but if you would like to meet them, you can arrange with your host a Meet the Camels experience complete with facts, pictures, and a chance to feed them their favorite treats. Advance booking for Meet the Camels is needed *only as available with farm staff and so long as regularly scheduled camel events don’t interfere.
