About this property
The Grey Wolf - Camper by Mount Rushmore/Custer SP
Welcome to Cloud Nine Camping—a 33-acre haven just 6 miles southeast of Keystone (Mount Rushmore) and 2 miles from Custer State Park!
Experience unforgettable moments exploring scenic trails, marveling at local landmarks, or soaking in nature. By day, hike or sightsee, and by night, roast s’mores around the campfire under the starry Black Hills sky.
The space
Escape to the charm of the Black Hills with this fully equipped 32-foot camper, surrounded on three sides by the lush Black Hills National Forest. Whether you’re exploring local tourist attractions, hiking the nearby trails, or relaxing by one of the many serene lakes, adventure and tranquility are just steps away.
Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay:
- A cozy queen-sized bed, full bunk beds, a convertible kitchen table, and a fold-down couch for versatile sleeping arrangements.
- A fully-stocked kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker (plus coffee and filters), pots, pans, dishware, utensils, and paper towels.
- Essential comforts like sheets, blankets, pillows, and bath towels (one per guest).
- A **bathroom** complete with a shower and toilet.
Outside, unwind and connect with nature in your private outdoor space:
- A picnic table for meals under the open sky.
- A fire ring and roasting sticks for evenings around the campfire.
- Four Adirondack chairs for pure relaxation amidst the forest.
Our campground is designed to recapture the magic of camping “back in the day.” While other campers share this slice of paradise, the layout ensures everyone has room to breathe and relax. With 33 acres of lush scenery and the Black Hills National Forest surrounding you, the opportunities for exploration are endless.
While our campground offers serene seclusion—tucked away just a few miles off Playhouse Road—it’s also centrally located near the best of the Southern Black Hills. You’ll find yourself just:

- 5 miles from Center Lake
- 22 miles from Sylvan Lake
- 19 miles from Hill City, SD
