The Neighborhood:
The Garden District was built in the mid-19th century and is one of the most scenic and wealthy areas of all New Orleans. Lush, manicured trees and grand, historic mansions line the streets, making it an oasis away from the bustle of the French Quarter and perfect for strolling. Find yourself within walking distance to popular Magazine Street which offers both upscale dining, craft cocktails and rare antiques as well as dive bars and eclectic boutiques.
Other nearby attractions include the Audubon Park & Zoo, Lafayette Cemetery, and Commander’s Palace. The French Quarter is a quick 12 minute car ride away. My personal favorite coffee house, Mojo, is right on the corner!
Getting Around:
Many attractions can be enjoyed by foot, but for further adventures, there are plenty of transportation options. There is a nearby blue bike share hub at the northeast corner of Annunciation Center Park. Enjoy a quick 8-minute walk to St. Charles Ave. and you will find the historic streetcar, taking you anywhere from the French Quarter to Audubon Park. Street parking is easy to find if you bring a rental car. Additionally, taxis and ride shares such as Uber and Lyft, also operate heavily in the area.
Distance to the following:
-French Quarter: 12 minutes by car or 30 minutes by streetcar
-Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport: 20 minutes by car
-Convention Center: 4 minutes by car
-Tulane University: 13 minutes by car or 30 minutes by streetcar
-Streetcar Access: 8-minute walk to Stop #267 at Felicity St and St. Charles Ave.

This was an amazing property! Beautifully restored and decorated, in a great location walking distance from Magazine St. and street cars. Lovely private pool -- there was an issue with the heating but the host was very communicative and had repairs done within 48 hours! Would absolutely stay here again, it was perfect for a group of 10.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The house was huge with plenty of room for the four couples. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There are several items that future guests should be aware of:-There were no dresses to store clothes. They did provide 3 rolling clothes rack for the five bedrooms. My wife and myself stored our clothes on a spare bed.-The heating/cooling system is very complex with 5 separate controls which we struggled with. They needed to be set to the same temperatures to provide even heating/cooling. We had a hard time switching from cooling to heating because a severe cold front occurred the first three days. We then had to readjust back to cooling for the last two days. The host helped us with this to get it right.-There are two claw bathtubs with showers that were difficult to get in and out of for some of us.
The house was perfectly clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, wonderful linens. We used all the spaces: the swimming pool, pool table, the kitchen and living room. We enjoyed watching movies and had no trouble with the wifi or technology (although the heating/cooling system is a bit confusing). The host kindly allowed an early arrival stash her suitcase inside before our arrival time. We did find some basic things missing: enough towels, coffee cups, soap—and within 24 hours the manager brought all those things over. The kitchen could still use more dishes and utensils for those who really want to cook there, as we did. There still could be better storage for clothing in some of the rooms. There are some quirky details about the layout of this old house. The primary bedroom is only accessible through a bathroom shared with another bedroom, the downstairs bedroom uses the only bathroom on that floor and is reached by walking through the kitchen and living room, the water pressure is very low in the 2 back bathrooms on the upper floor. That being said, this is a very comfortable house in a great neighborhood in a great city. The luxury of having a patio, grill, and pool were definite bonuses. We were glad to gather together there, and appreciated the host answering our needs and questions as best they could.
