Wonderful historic home

We had a wonderful stay. I would recommend this stay to anyone and we really enjoyed it. This was a blessing to have as we are a Marine Corps veteran couple who had our families meet for the first time here. It was a perfect three days!

Absolutely Wonderful!

My husband and I, our daughter, her husband and two adult grandchildren stayed at this beautiful home for three nights in July. We were all very impressed with the accommodations - it is a beautiful extremely well preserved historic home within walking distance of downtown Charleston. It was at once comfortable, yet elegant, with every amenity we could have asked for.My personal favorite was relaxing on the rear porch overlooking the garden and fountain, and you can see the bay too! This is a wonderful base to explore Charleston. We hope to return again and stay longer. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us!

Great stay in Charleston!

This is the second time we stayed at this property located on the Battery. First time was for a family wedding in 2024 and we rebooked for our son's graduation from the College of Charleston. Met the owners who were lovely and share with us a little history of the home. Should we return to Charleston again with our entire family, we will certainly repeat.

Perfect Charleston Experience

Well-maintained home on the Battery; the home was exceptionally well-appointed and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. If you can tear yourself away from the porch overlooking the lush garden, it is easy walking distance to historic Charleston.

Beautiful historic home

Lovely home. Very comfortable beds. Two bedrooms are considerably nicer than the other two on the third floor …but if you have flexible people staying with you it doesn’t matter. Plumbing was a little wonky. Need to be patient with the hot water. But it’s a beautiful location and home.

The property was breathtakingly beautiful. The interiors of this historic house and the lush gorgeous garden made Old Charles come alive. This is the perfect location No need for a car; you can easily walk to museums, shops, restaurants and all the highlights of Charleston from here. Beautiful and comfortable house located in a lovely neighborhood of Charleston

We loved this lovely house that comfortably accommodate our family of six. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were all nicely furnished and comfortable. The four bedrooms and baths nicely met our needs. Our family enjoyed the porches, and backyard garden. It proved to be the perfect location for our grand daughter’s Easter egg hunt. When we had an AC problem, the rental manager had a repairman over to the house within an hour after hours to fix it. This stay was excellent.

About the host

Hosted by Jamie Molony

Host profile image
We are a retired couple who raised our 3 children in this house. In 2001 we sailed our boat to Europe. We now spend part of the year on our boat in Europe and other part of the year in Charleston. We have so much space in our home that we enjoy offering the self contained top three floors of this home for rent as a short term rental.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property because it was in walking distance of anything on the peninsula and is a lovely, historic, large, gracious home with a beautiful garden. It is an exciting and happy place to be. We own several other rentals in a popular area on St Philip St that we call Stphilipsquare and all are listed there.

What makes this property unique

Fabulous location, authentic Charleston 'single house', spacious and comfortable, lovely garden and piazzas.
Close to the battery, house museums, Spoleto Festival events, antique shops, fabulous restaurants. Beaches and water activities are nearby. Licensed Short Term Rental, permit number listed above
