About this property
Hunting Cabin, Authentic 1800's, RUSTIC, Miner's fishing and Hunting Cabin
Welcome to the Horse Prairie Stage Stop, Restaurant, Saloon and historic old western Hotel. Stay comfortably with old western hospitality in Grant MT at this large 2-bedroom cabin just 30 minutes outside of Dillon, on the Historic Lewis & Clark Trail on the Horse Prairie; famous location of Sacajawea's link up with family, providing horses to the expedition prior to crossing the Continental Divide! The old cabin features 1 bunk bed and 1 full bed, in a separate, private room. Additional futon and couch in the living room and sofa sleeper in the front room close to the real wood stove heat. Sleeps 6. Enjoy the amenities in the lodge just a few seconds away, immediately out your front door. The front room at the main lodge has fiber, high speed WiFi, reading literature, books, historic items, along with a historic old time saloon and restaurant.
This is an authentic cabin built in the 1800's with updates through the decades for a little modern comfort...but make no mistake, this is an AUTHENTIC, RUSTIC, HUNTER'S / FISHERMAN'S Cabin out in dusty cowboy country... This IS NOT "Martha Stewart's Cozy Modern Rustic" cabin for city slickers to feel like they have checked the box for "roughing it"... No, you don't get a digital thermostat...you'll be given wood to make a fire for heat. You get a solid roof, clean sheets, fresh air and a break from population. This is the real country with ranchers, cowboys and 'Merica patriotism galore! You might get a coat of dust from off the prairie that blows through the door as you come and go. You might even see a field mouse scurry across the front porch in addition to all the other wild life Montana has to offer. What you will also get is authentic, quiet nights to hear yourself think. You might go hours without hearing a car pass by. You might hear some coyotes in the distance. You might get to experience the Northern lights or some amazing, brilliant night, summer skies where you can see constellations and teach your kids some real navigation. You're in the middle of the prairie, surrounded by beautiful mountain foothills just before the Continental Divide and national forest...You have the infamous Continental Divide Trail (CDT) just minutes from our front door. You're a stones throw from stepping off to mountain lakes, wildlife, trails galore, fly fishing, huting and outdoor recreation!! You're 30 minutes from any real town or services to buy groceries, but you have an amazing restaurant open nightly to enjoy real Montana steaks and burgers from the local ranch. We're on well water with heavy mineral content. Not the tastiest, but some enjoy getting their daily vitamin. Personal preference, but may want to bring some extra bottled water. REMEMBER, WE ARE NOT A PLACE TO STAY IN ROUTE TO WHATEVER... WE ARE AN ADVENTURE OFFERING A COMFORTABLE NIGHT SLEEP IN GOD'S COUNTRY.
