There are almost no words to describe how lovely the house and the staff were! Our first time in Costa Rica and I can say with complete frankness that we will be going back! Hopefully soon, and hopefully to this house! Gorgeous location and furnishings, everything you could want and more, comfortable beds, privacy, delicious meals cooked for you whenever you wanted, and great restaurants nearby of you desired. Rent a golf cart if you're not much of a hill walker, but the views are worth it.Loved every minute!

Truly Amazing Home, Location and Staff

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were blown away. The neighborhood, Peninsula Papagayo, is the most exclusive area on Costa Rica. The entrance is gated and lined with huge palm trees. There are miles of walking paths and the entire neighborhood is manicured with lush plants, views of the ocean and golf course. We were greeted by the house staff and concierge with welcome drinks and tour of this beautiful home. The back porch is perfect for watching the sunset, listening to the many birds and watching monkeys. The primary bedroom is large with an amazing view, elegant bathroom and I loved the outdoor shower. All the bedrooms were well appointed and we loved the pool and outdoor areas. Each morning, the awesome house staff made us coffee and breakfast. They provided laundry and house cleaning each day which made the stay so relaxing. The concierge, Adrian, was awesome and took care of everything from groceries to arranging the chef, dinner reservations and booking excisions. He checked on us each day and provided for all of our needs. We did zip lining, a sunset boat cruise, a rain forest excursion, played golf and tennis, visited the marina, Four Season and the Beach Club. All were excellent. Having a golf cart is a must and we enjoyed it for getting everywhere we needed and also just driving around to take in the beauty in the neighborhood. This was one of our favorite trips and I highly recommend!

Excellent Management and Owners

We are very impressed with the management and owners of Villa Esperanza. Our family of 6 was scheduled to visit during Spring Break of 2020. Mariel had planned a week's worth of activities, purchased groceries, and scheduled a chef for most of the nights. We were really looking forward to the week! But with the spread of the Coronavirus, we decided in the end not to travel to Costa Rica. We didn’t have any travel insurance and the terms of our rental clearly stated that there would be no refund. In spite of this the owners decided to give us a 100% refund. We were very impressed with Mariel's planning and preparation for our trip and with the decision by the owners to issue the full refund. We look forward to visiting at some point in the future.

Pura Vida

This is a large modern house with tons of outdoor space. There are two live-in staff members to take care of housekeeping and cooking (you provide your own food). The concierge can organize a large variety of trips from fishing to ATV and zipline tours and visits to the rainforest. Costa Rica is truly amazing so make sure you take advantage of all it has to offer. On the days off the beach with all amenities is just a short drive away. Prieta beach has nice waves for those who want to try surfing. Peninsula Papagayo has several excellent restaurants, as well as biking, golf and tennis. On the Peninsula you will often see (and hear) capuchin and howler monkeys, coatis and a wide variety of tropical birds.
