Summary:

Stay in the Moonridge pines minutes from Bear Mountain in this 4-bedroom cabin that sleeps 10. Warm up by the stone wood-burning fireplace, soak in the private hot tub, and let the kids play foosball in the downstairs bunk room. Updated kitchen with granite counters, a back deck with propane BBQ, Spectrum Wi-Fi and smart TVs. The lake and the Village are a short drive. No pets.



The Space:

This tri-level cabin sits among tall pines in Moonridge, close to Bear Mountain.



Living room: stone wood-burning fireplace, a big sectional sofa, a smart TV and sliding doors to the deck.



Kitchen: updated, with granite counters, stainless appliances, gas range, dishwasher, microwave and breakfast bar seating.



Upstairs: a bedroom with a King and a twin bed, and a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, sharing a half bath.



Downstairs: a bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds, an extra twin bed, foosball and a big TV, plus a bedroom with a Queen bed. Both open to the side yard, and a full bathroom sits between them.



Outdoors: a back deck with patio furniture and a propane BBQ, and a private hot tub on the patio below.



Also: Spectrum Wi-Fi, smart TVs for your favorite streaming apps, and a washer and dryer.

Contactless self check-in with a smart lock. The whole cabin, deck and hot tub are yours. Parking for up to 3 cars in the driveway (no street parking).



The Neighborhood:

A tranquil, tree-lined street in Moonridge, close to Bear Mountain, the Big Bear Alpine Zoo and the golf course. The lake and the Village are a short drive.



Getting Around:

A car is the easiest way to get around. Bear Mountain is a few minutes away, and Uber is available in Big Bear. Snow chains or 4WD may be required in winter.



Other Things to Note:

The fireplace is wood-burning. We don't provide firewood, but it's sold all over Big Bear; Duraflame logs light easily. The BBQ is propane; please check the tank before grilling (tank exchange at the Walgreens on Big Bear Blvd). Big Bear has no home trash pickup, so please take trash to the Garstin Rd trash site (41970 Garstin Rd).

I loved staying here. The jacuzzi was amazing and was located right outside down the stairs. It was a perfect location for a snowy day in big bear!!

Comfy, Cozy, Cute, and Clean!

I brought my kids and their friends up for a couple of nights to see some snow. The cabin is beautiful, and comfortable. The heater works great and beds were comfy. No complaints at all, we enjoyed the hot tub and quiet neighborhood! The hosts were easy to get ahold of and communication was great.

Family Weekend in Big Bear

Loved the Cabin...plenty of room for all 5 grandkids! Nice deck with barbeque and jaccuzi. Thanks for immediate response from Mario regarding an issue with the jacuzzi! It was a great time for me and my family! Would definetly recommend this cabin!! It was very close to sledding and skiing and anything you need!

Great Location

My family and I stayed here for the first time, 7 adults 4 children and there was plenty of room for all without being on top of each other. Nice big living room that we could all gather. The location is great close to everything. Having the bbq was convenient and used it 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed and the spa a lovely bonus for the evenings. Did have an issue with adjusting the temp on one of the showers so we all used the downstairs one. It was great having the kids room downstairs with all the games, it got a lot of use. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again. I gave 4 stars as the cabin does need a little TLC and a carpet cleaning would be good. Mario was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

Hi. Thanks for being wonderful guests. Happy you enjoyed the Cabin and the different areas it has so the entire group doesn't seemed cramped. The Bbq is great especially taking in the mountain views. Sorry you didn't know how to operate the shower in one of the bathrooms. As soon as you called us we came over immediately to show you how to operate. It's the inside valve on the stem. So our shower does work perfectly. We will check the carpets and will definitely get a professional clean.

Tired property

Listing 3 bathrooms for up to 12 guests misleading - only 2 showers. No central heat. Wall heaters on ground and first floor, space heaters in 2 bedrooms upstairs inadequate heating 1" nail found in living room carpet - something that should be picked up by a vacuum cleaner and could have been stepped on in bare feet General condition of property run down - carpeting, furniture and fixtures.

Scandia woods experience

The location was great and the size of the house accommodated our group of 8. The house needs a little tlc. Hard to open screen on the front slider. No screen on the back slider. Light above the kitchen table was full of dead moths and bugs. Spa was leaking and unable to be repaired during our stay. The owner checked in with us often and I think he tried to fix the spa but said he couldn’t get the part needed. The deck was dirty as well and could have been swept before we arrived. But all in all it was fine and we enjoyed our first visit to big bear.

Hi Mary, We want guests to know we have a very clean and functional Cabin. Thank you for letting us know about the screen slider. We have gotten it adjusted and now it slides smoothly. We also cleaned inside the light above the kitchen table. When you arrived to the cabin the spa was working. Unfortunately the following day the main pump on the motor went out. We had to order the part it took 2 days and then we repaired it. These are mechanical issues out of our control. The spa now has a brand new pump and works excellent. Thank you for saying at the end "But all in all it was fine and you enjoyed your first visit to Big Bear". We try very hard to make our guests have an excellent stay in our cabin. We are local and always available if any issues come up. We hope to have you back soon. Mario

Owner cancelled my reservation 2 days prior to arrival!

I didn't get a chance to stay at the cabin but wanted to give warning to those who make plans to stay in this cabin. We were scheduled and confirmed for 11/20 then I receive an email 2 days before arriving that there was a problem with the "system" and the cabin was double booked. Funny thing is that I messaged the owner prior to booking and he confirmed it was available. This really created a mess for our family and had to find another cabin last minute. I think it's unprofessional. Period.

Hi Jackie, We again completely apologize for the mix up. You did make a reservation through vrbo on Nov 15 . On Nov 17 we noticed the program somehow had already had another guest reserved. As soon as we were aware we contacted you. This is the first time this situation has ever happened to us. We are in contact with VRBO and found out the Calendars had stopped syncing together without our knowledge. We are now not relying on software and are manually checking each reservation when it is made. We again are very sorry and did notify you as soon as we knew there was an issue. Which was 2 days after you booked. I can assure all potential guests that as you can see from our reviews its the first time this has ever happened. We at least did catch it in time and you were able to make other arrangements. This is something we now have experienced and it will not ever happen agan since we now manually checking availability and not leaving it up to the software syncing up calendars.

Great Experience

Stayed for two nights. Mario was extremely polite and accommodating to our late check out. He responded very fast. The location and neighbor hood were amazing, so peaceful. It does get quite warm upstairs and there is no AC, luckily it gets cool at night times and there are so many windows to let fresh air in. There is no shower upstairs and the bathroom on the living room level tends to hold water in the tub while showering but it was not a problem for us. Hot tub worked perfectly. Kitchen was beautiful. So grateful for the experience.

Needs some work

Our family had a great time at the cabin. It was clean and comfortable. Some of the electrical outlets don't work though. Kitchen needs a pantry. There is a moisture leak in the downstairs bedroom and the paneling is soaked.

Hi Mary thanks for staying with us. happy you found the cabin very clean and comfortable we take great pride in presenting a very clean cabin. We have shelves in the kitchen unfortunately there's no room for a pantry. We have heavy rains on Thursday when you were there and I must be a small leak that travel down the wall we have taken care of that now we appreciate you noticing. Some outlets are GFI and not sure if they were tripped we will make sure that all outlets are working. The cabin is very functional and very well maintained

Fun Summer Getaway

Comfortable stay

My family had a great time at our stay. It was big enoug for everyone who went and close to the local stores and to the only snow areas available to use. The movie collection could be better. We were hoping for some known movies or scary movies to keep us on out toes. Overall the stay was great. The cabin was clean and didn’t have any issues during the stay.

Cozy cabin with lots of room for the family

We just completed our stay and really enjoyed the cabin. The great room was perfect for our group and where we spent most of our time. Due to the lack of snow we spent the days exploring town, the bowling alley and laser tag but evenings were spent looking at stars, sitting by fire and dipping in the jacuzzi. We'll be back for sure.

Loved our stay here

We reached late in the night, and had no problem in getting keys and settling down quickly. It was clean and all required stuffs were in there place. We went there for large family and friend get-together, and we had space for everyone in the group. There are lot of beds, for kids as well as for adults, fast internet, satellite TVs, fireplace, and a hot tub. We will definitely plan to visit Great Bear Lake again and stay in this property.

Nice Place

The house was spacious and accommodating. Kids loved the downstairs room. We had a group of 11 and all of us were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The location was great as well. Thank you for letting us stay there. We plan on returning in the future. *FYI: The house has 2.5 bathrooms (not 3 as stated in the description). One bathroom didn't have a shower. Wasn't a problem at all for us.

Second time I've rented this cabin!

I've rented this cabin twice now with two different groups of people and it's alway great! Walking distance to town and around the lake, if you're up for a beautiful walk around the lake. The place was very clean and homey and has tvs in a lot of the rooms, plus the hot tub is great and easy to use.

Wonderful location & cabin home!

Came to spend quality time with my 2 sons, their wife's and my grandkids. Great home with plenty of rooms and space. The cabin was exactly as describe by the site and from other reviews. Great back yard for the kids to play and snow sled. Mario thank you, my family had a fabulous time, we love to come back next year!

Nice place

House was clean, had plenty of space (one room had a Cal King and a twin, another had two twins, another had a full, and the last room had 5 beds- two bunks and a separate twin). The hot tub was nice, area was quiet. The house got hot but during the day, but has an amazing breeze when you open the windows and back patio door. We enjoyed it!

Memorial Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful time at Scandia Woods we went to enjoy the holiday weekend and celebrate a friends birthday. We arrived and the house was clean and fully stocked with basic items (e.g., dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper etc.) The outside deck has a stunning view of the mountains and the backyard deck keeps cool and has plenty of shade when the weather got hot. Mario was quick to respond to any of my questions and kind enough to let us check in a little early. The house had all the amenities we needed to clean, cook and BBQ. The hot tub was my favorite part! All the bedrooms are very nice but the master bedroom has a stunning view of the mountains that you can't miss out on. Lovely neighborhood and there are plenty of stores near by for additional supplies (e.g., CVS, K-MART and liquor stores). Overall a successful weekend! Thank you Mario!
