Located on a small chicken farm, the property is surrounded by fields and vineyards, with great views over to the local village. Eymet is the closest town with everything you need from good restaurants to supermarkets. The pool was crystal clear, and perfect for the 30 degree days. Highly recommended and would not hesitate in staying again.
We had a lovely week at this property in August 2024. The property is quiet (with just a couple of other neighbouring houses) surrounded by fields and orchards.
The pool was amazing - we spent quite a bit of the week enjoying the pool and really good weather.
A visit to Emat is a must (we went to the evening market) and there are lots of other things to explore in the area.
The house was clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend it to others
Wonderful week, lovely gite in Saint Aubin, everything you need in the Gite, very spacious, the owner (Helen) on hand if any info required. Wonderful pool which due to the hot temperatures we were in most if the time. 7 mins or so from Eymet which had a Supermarket for all your needs, restuarants also in Eymet to serve all tastes. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Helen. X

Thank you Tracy you are most welcome to come back anytime.
This is a lovely property in the middle of the peaceful countryside. A great place to relax and read books in the sunshine or the shade if it gets too hot. If you want history you have cave paintings, Bastides and the modern aircraft museum at Toulouse. Two weeks just flew by it was green in June until the sunflowers came out in our second week.
As a family I’m not sure we’ve ever relaxed as quickly as on this holiday!!!
Temperature was VERY hot for the feral qeek so the pool was a godsend, it’s a very “English” area of France, so all supermarkets even sold foodie essentials for my girls like baked beans!
We would happily recommend this property to anyone who wants peace and quiet.
The only downside was the insect bites. But I assume sue to the extreme heat (40+ some days) we were afflicted more than usual.
Even saying that, we’d happily return.

Thank you sue for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay. We do have mozzie nets on all beds as a precaution just incase.
Thanks 😊
Good things:
Pool - nice size and shape
Outside - lots of seating and playing space.
Size of house - comfortable dimensions
Location of house - if you’re happy with peace and isolation.
Lots of great markets and canoeing nearby.
Dog friendly
Not so good things;
Not particularly clean on arrival. A bit musty and dusty. Evidence of previous renters a bit too obvious. I brought this up with the owner who has made steps to address the issue.
Perhaps useful;
The quiet and private aspect of the house means no nearby bakery. We drove a few miles into Eymet for our daily bread and croissant. A cycle is possible but you’d have to be an enthusiast - the uphill homeward trip would challenge most.
If you like your coffee, bring your own coffee making facilities.
A recommander.
Séjour très agréable dans cette habitation. La maison est bien équipée et les pièces sont spacieuses. La propriétaire est très accessible et sympathique en cas de souci. Je recommande vivement ce logement.
We chose this property as it was close to my sisters wedding. It’s a lovely sweet charming home, the children enjoyed swimming in the pool, lizard spotting (attempts to catch) or chilling on their electronics. I enjoyed walking through the gorgeous plum farm behind the property and spotting the wild dear in the corn fields. We visited the town of Eymet and Bergerac which were beautiful places, definitely need a camera. We live in a busy Kent town so I absolutely enjoyed the peace and utter seclusion this property gives. It’s a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle back home.

We loved our stay in this stone property with its own private pool. The kitchen diner is spacious and well equipped, the master bedroom attractive and comfortable, similarly the lounge. We found that even in temperatures of 30 plus the interior stayed cool with the doors closed. We liked having different seating areas around the front, back and side of the house to take advantage of the views, peace, and shade. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely break. The owners could not have been more helpful in making us welcome. The facilities were second to none with all you could need for a relaxing family holiday.
The owners of the property are absolutely brilliant! Communication was clear and they checked we were ok etc.
The property itself is an excellent size and really tastefully furnished and decorated. A lot of effort has gone into making it a comfortable and pleasant place to stay.
The pool is great!!! Lovely size and the perfect place to relax with family.
We would thoroughly recommend it and would very happily return one day!

Wonderful place to stay
This is the fourth time we have stayed at Helen and Stuart's barn and we love it! The location is beautiful and perfect if you are looking for a rural retreat. The barn is clean and well equipped with everything you need during your holiday and Helen is always at hand if you need any extra information or help. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area - such as wine tasting, canoeing, castle visits, not to mention the many markets held in the area. We would recommend a canoeing trip down the Dordogne or Vezere river and also that you visit the prehistoric caves at Lascaux - though it is a bit of a trek - they are amazing! There are many good markets and vineyards in the area where you can sample excellent food and wine but the vineyard Bertins (in the Duras region) holds a free tasting evening on a Monday (and I think Thursday) between 5.30 and 7.30 and that is an experience we would certainly recommend as you simply turn up to be seated and from then on are served a range of pates, wines and other delights! This is a great place to stay and we certainly hope to return again in the future.
