Located in the award winning gated community of Kahakai Estates, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home offers a free-form inground swimming pool, small plunge pool and over 900 square feet of outdoor living space in the covered lanai. Open the oversized sliding glass doors from the Great Room and bring the outdoors in. Enjoy magnificent sunrises over Hualalai and gorgeous sunsets over the blue waters of the Pacific from your tropical outdoor oasis.

You'll enjoy the open floor plan of this spacious home with the large great room combining living room, dining room, and kitchen with granite countertops, breakfast bar, and stainless-steel appliances. The great room comes equipped with a large screen TV with HD cable programming and free hi-speed WIFI internet. The private, primary suite with large ensuite bathroom has direct ocean views and sits across the great room from the two guest bedrooms. To reduce our carbon footprint, this home has solar hot water and a rooftop photovoltaic system that routes excess power back to the local power grid. The home is single level and there are no stairs.

This beautiful home sits on 1/2 acre of professionally landscaped property with royal palms, tropical plants, lava rock walls, and a sweeping grassy lawn. Walk or bike to White Sands Beach Park and Kailua Village where you can shop, dine at ocean front restaurants, take a sunset cruise or snorkeling tour, and find just about any tourist related activity. Enjoy some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island only minutes away at Kahaluu Beach Park or Honaunau Bay next to the Place of Refuge at Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. This home is minutes from Safeway, Walmart, and Starbucks and only a 15-minute drive from the Kailua Kona airport.

So clean we thought we are the first to use the property. The ocean view is gorgeous. Large and comfortable for our family of 6 ranging from 5 to 63. The kitchen is stocked well. Even a waffle maker. Lots of supplies. Close to everything. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect retreat with spectacular sunset views

The Kamilo House was the perfect accommodation for our family that visited the Big Island. It’s located in a gated community that was so quiet that it felt like we were the only ones there! The property itself was spacious and clean and included everything we could have possibly needed for our stay, and more! Shops and restaurants are just a short drive away, and for the adventurous you can easily walk into town. Mahalo for letting us stay at this wonderful property.

Birthday Getaway

We loved our stay here to celebrate our daughter’s 19th Birthday. House was wonderful - VERY clean and just as described with best stocked kitchen we have had. The back yard/lanai was the best part - already missing our morning coffees and breakfasts out on the lanai. Perfectly located - close enough to Kona but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful quiet. We will definitely be back!

Kamilo House Vacation

The Kamilo house was perfect for two couples. Our first trip to Hawaii during February so we could see the whales. Most days we could see them from the backyard lawn breaching and spouting just off the coast. Took the dinner cruise one day and saw humpback and pilot whales along with many dolphins. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Our own private resort

I can't say enough good things about this home. The backyard makes you feel like you are at your very own resort. You can watch both the sunrise & sunset from the lounge chairs by the pool. We enjoyed the sunshine from sunup to sundown. The home is VERY clean & comfortable. We loved watching the geckos & listening to the birds in the private tropical setting. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful home.

A great time with the family

The house and property were outstanding. We especially enjoyed eating outside and watching the sun set over the swimming pool and palm trees. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils. The heater for the "plunge pool" didn't perform as it should, but was replaced in a timely manner. All in all, highly recommended and would go back in a heart beat.

Fantastic Home

We stayed for two weeks and wished we could have stayed longer. The house was amazing with beautiful views, an amazing pool and lanai, and great kitchen for cooking. The house is really close to shopping, but also in a beautiful, and quiet, neighborhood. We had an issue with the washer as well as some little fire ants (LFA), but the rental property management team was impressively responsive. Within hours, the washer was fixed and the hot tub area treated for ants.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful property that is very well equipped. However, we did have a some issues. No hot water in the mornings, swimming pool lights and hot tub stopped workingafter first day, and the pillows and bedding while clean smelled badly.

Nothing Short of Amazing!

This house was our first Vrbo experience, and it may have ruined our expectations for any future rentals! We received a call letting us the house was ready for check in about an hour before scheduled check in, and when we arrived, the place was immaculate! The backyard and lanai was very well maintained, the the home very well equipped. There were labels on everything, so if there were any quirks with the appliances or air conditioning, we knew what to do from the labels, and we didn't have to contact the property management at all. As parents of a child on the spectrum, we really appreciated the lanai sliding door alarms that we could turn on at night. The view was amazing, and we enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai and beautiful sunsets. The pool and yard team were there the first day, and did a great job. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful home with lots of outdoor living in paradise! A great location.

We loved staying here. It was beautiful and had many amenities with lots of outdoor living space and foliage. We thought the pool could have been cleaner (the home’s rule book said someone would be by to clean it weekly, but that did not happen. The pool vacuum also seemed to be broken or not working). The home’s rule book also read a little like ‘stay here, but don’t have fun’. It gave obvious suggestions like be respectful with noise and also many great ideas for local places to visit. But then it also said things like “don’t do cannon balls in the pool” which seemed excessive. The home was very clean, though, and nicely furnished. Someone put liquid hand soap in one of the bathroom’s foam hand soap dispenser’s which rendered the soap in that bathroom basically useless, but that was a minor thing to us with a simple fix to the grocery store. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would visit again! Just please clean the pool better next time. Thank you for a great stay!

Private Estate Escape with Ocean Views for the Win

Property/Location: 10/10 not too far from downtown and activities, nice to be in an estate area, great views and landscaped yard, perfect home for entertaining with enough room for everyone. We enjoyed this property overall and happy to discover the fence around the pool (which were not in the pictures), the outdoor shower doesn't exist (shown in pictures) Hot tub was on a timer which was unfortunate as we like it in the morning and wouldn't come on past sunset. Although the lengthy rental agreement states #38 of 68 terms, "38. RIGHT OF ENTRY AND INSPECTIONS: Kona Coast Vacations will have the right to enter the Premises pursuant to state law; (1) In case of emergency, without prior notice. (2) To make necessary repairs, alterations, improvements, supply necessary or agreed services, exhibit the Premises to prospective or actual purchasers, mortgagees, Guests, workmen, insurance agents, or contractors. GUEST acknowledges that routine care taking, and grounds maintenance will occur periodically during the lease period." The most frustrating of this property was all of the pool, yard maintenance people that came by during our stay unfortunately interrupted our families flow and privacy. People seemed to show up every time someone was napping including the kids or we were trying to enjoy the pool. In 5 days we had the following: pool tile guy, motion detector guy, 5 guys for landscaping, someone came to change a beach chair pad. Additional Cons: for the caliber of the property and costs, we would like to see updated beach gear as the chairs and ice chest were broken, the washer and dryer are very old, this is a personal residence so personal phones calls started at 6AM. In the end still and great Escape, would prefer less interactions with outsiders while trying to enjoy such.
