About this property

Prineville Reservoir, Lake front, walk to beach: Kayaks, paddle boards, boat pkg

Other things to note:
1). Our chalet-style home is open concept, with the master bedroom being separated from the catwalk by blackout curtains, so limited privacy. The catwalk is where you'll find a small home gym, and space to use the 3 cots, and/or our deluxe Pack n Play.

2). To preserve our view, we've chosen not to cover any of our south-facing windows. In the morning, the catwalk is bathed in light at sunrise...but we provide complimentary sleep masks!

3) To aid in cleaning up after being at the beach, we have a shower, toilet, and sink in the basement, right by the driveway. This is the 3rd bathroom and requires exiting the house and heading downstairs. The laundry room is in the same area.

4). The property is fully fenced, partly with 6.5' deer fence, the rest with 4' rolled fencing.

5). We live in wildfire country, and sometimes have to tolerate smoky air. In our experience, it blows out pretty quickly. We recommend guests download the Watch Duty app to stay informed of any local fires, but we'll also let you know if there's anything to be concerned about.

5). Absolutely NO WOOD FIRES during summer months; it's life-threatening and illegal! Please enjoy the gas fireplace on the terrace. Also no fireworks, ever!

6). We live in a wild place, and count on the birds, spiders, and bats to keep the flying insect population in check. There are 2 bat houses on our property to encourage bats to focus their attention on our little slice of heaven. You'll likely find little bat droppings on the balcony and deck floor (looks like mouse poop, but it's not). We clean it up every day, but it's back in the morning, because the bats are hungry and what goes in must come out! Don't worry, you won't see any bats unless you're outside after dark.

7). The beach is at the bottom of our short hill, and the distance to the water changes throughout the year based on how full the lake is. The reservoir/lake is typically at its fullest in the spring and gets lower throughout the summer. The lake is a reservoir and water levels can vary dramatically from year-to-year, based on snow pack and irrigation needs, and may be higher or lower than in the photos. Please understand we have no control over the water level you will experience during your stay.

8). There are 6 Arlo security cameras around the property, as well as solar security lights that will briefly illuminate when they sense motion. The cameras are there for all of our protection and are not to be tampered with. We only review camera footage when there's a problem, and footage is deleted after your checkout.

WOW! We had an incredible stay at Erica and Carl's place. This was probably the most thoughtfully prepared and organized vacation rental we've stayed in.Everything was labeled, instructions were clear, and the guest book they sent before our arrival helped us settle in quickly instead of spending time figuring things out.The house was very well stocked with toiletries, kitchen supplies, spices, and so many little extras that we never had to run into town for something we forgot. The two coffee makers came in handy with 7 adults, and my nephew, who did most of the cooking, loved having the different grills to use.The views were beautiful, and we spent many evenings around the propane fire table enjoying the lake and watching the sunset. We also appreciated having access to kayaks, paddleboards, inflatables, life jackets, and even waterproof phone cases for taking pictures while out on the water, which was only about a 5-minute walk away.We especially appreciated how welcoming they were to our older German Shepherd since pet-friendly places are important to us.We had 7 adults and 3 kids, and everyone had plenty of room. The kids loved the bunkhouse, and having the extra showers, bathroom, sink, and laundry downstairs was really helpful for a group our size. The little details really made the difference. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing lake getaway.

Erica was amazing and was there to answer any questions. We had a relaxing time and the house had everything needed and then some. Definitely will be staying again. She even had a card and a banner for our daughter’s birthday. Definitely went above and beyond.
