About this property

Welcome to The Last Resort

The Last Resort, part of Grand Spruce Lodge, is a beautifully restored late-1940s log cabin just 20 minutes north of Kenora, Ontario, set along the peaceful shores of Armstrong Lake. This rustic retreat offers crystal-clear waters, a large sandy beach, and access to our shared Aqua Adventure Park featuring a water trampoline, blob, log, slide, and a solar-powered water slide. The spacious dock with comfortable seating is perfect for morning coffee or watching the sunset, while a swing set and cozy fire pit make it easy to enjoy the outdoors all day and night.

Inside, the cabin blends vintage charm with modern comfort, featuring preserved wood carvings, antique furnishings, and entertainment options like a classic pinball machine and a versatile 3-in-1 bar table for Texas Hold’em, Roulette, and Craps. Sleeping arrangements include a twin-over-double bunk bed, a queen air mattress, and the option to use the couch for a sixth guest. The bar table is on wheels, allowing the space to easily convert for additional sleeping needs.

Adding to the charm of your stay, around ten friendly free-roaming chickens and two playful Sebastopol geese wander the property during the day, delighting guests of all ages. While the beach, dock, and adventure park are shared with two other cabins and the owner’s family, the space is large enough for everyone to enjoy comfortably. Guests also have access to a private area at the top of the property with two outdoor seating areas reserved exclusively for them.

The Last Resort sits on a quiet dead-end road with only a few neighboring cabins. From Kenora, take Highway 17A, then head north on Highway 658 for 25 km (about 18 minutes), turn right on Lambert Street, go one block to the T, turn right on Second Avenue South, and continue one minute to the cabin. All water and beach activities are at your own risk, as no lifeguard is on duty. The owner may occasionally be on-site for maintenance or enjoying the beach with family, and guests are welcome to message Khris at any time with questions. Whether you are here to fish, swim, relax on the beach, or simply take in the nostalgic charm of a classic lakeside cabin, The Last Resort offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, outdoor fun, and cozy comfort.

About the host

Hosted by Khris Kharoufeh

Host profile image
I’m originally from Manitoba and now live in Redditt, Ontario, where I love everything about lake life and the outdoors. When I’m not hosting, I’m usually busy with a project, fishing, boating, or relaxing by the water with my family. Hosting gives me the chance to share the beauty of this area with others and help guests create their own unforgettable memories here.

Why they chose this property

I chose this area because it offers the perfect mix of peace, nature, and lakefront living. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, with only a few cabins along our private dead-end road. I love waking up to the sound of loons, spending afternoons on the water, and watching the sun set over Armstrong Lake. It’s a place where life slows down, and you can truly relax and enjoy the beauty around you.

What makes this property unique

What makes my property unique is the combination of rustic charm, stunning lakefront views, and all the fun that comes with being right on Armstrong Lake. Each cabin has its own character, from vintage touches to cozy decks, while sharing access to a sandy beach, a water trampoline park, and other great amenities. The friendly free-roaming chickens, Sebastopol geese, and our two friendly dogs are always a hit with guests, adding a warm, personal touch you won’t find just anywhere.
