The Last Resort, part of Grand Spruce Lodge, is a beautifully restored late-1940s log cabin located just 20 minutes north of Kenora, Ontario. This unique lakefront retreat offers a peaceful alternative to busy Kenora accommodations, set on a quiet bay with crystal-clear water and a beautiful sandy beach.
Situated on a private five-acre waterfront property with four cabins, each well spaced apart to ensure guests enjoy their own private space, it offers the perfect balance of community and quiet seclusion near Kenora. Inside, the cabin blends vintage charm with modern comfort, featuring preserved wood carvings, antique furnishings, and unique entertainment options including a classic pinball machine and a versatile 3-in-1 bar table for Texas Hold’em, Roulette, and Craps.
Sleeping arrangements include a twin-over-double bunk bed, a queen air mattress, and the option to use the couch for a sixth guest. The bar table is on wheels, allowing the space to easily convert for additional sleeping needs.
The shared waterfront is a major highlight, now featuring a newly expanded Wibit Water Park with nine inflatable play elements, along with a Rave water trampoline with slide, log, and blob. Guests can also enjoy a spacious dock with comfortable seating, along with a cozy fire pit for relaxing evenings by the lake.
All waterfront equipment and amenities are shared among the four cabins, including the fully stocked Lakeside Shed with beach toys, life jackets, goggles, pool noodles, and a pump for inflatables. Guests also have access to two canoes, seven paddleboards, and an inflatable kayak, and you’re still close enough to Kenora to pick up supplies or head out for a nice dinner.
Around ten friendly free-roaming chickens wander the property, adding a unique and memorable touch for guests of all ages. While the beach and amenities are shared with three other cabins and the owner’s family, the layout of the property ensures cabins are not clustered together, giving each group plenty of space to relax and enjoy their own area.
The owner may occasionally be on-site for maintenance or enjoying the dock and beach with family. Whether you’re here to fish, swim, relax by the water, or enjoy a classic cabin getaway near Kenora, The Last Resort offers the perfect mix of rustic charm, comfort, and lakeside adventure.

About the host
Hosted by Khris Kharoufeh
I’m originally from Manitoba and now live in Redditt, Ontario, where I love everything about lake life and the outdoors. When I’m not hosting, I’m usually busy with a project, fishing, boating, or relaxing by the water with my family. Hosting gives me the chance to share the beauty of this area with others and help guests create their own unforgettable memories here.
Why they chose this property
I chose this area because it offers the perfect mix of peace, nature, and lakefront living. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming, with only a few cabins along our private dead-end road. I love waking up to the sound of loons, spending afternoons on the water, and watching the sun set over Armstrong Lake. It’s a place where life slows down, and you can truly relax and enjoy the beauty around you.
What makes this property unique
What makes my property unique is the combination of rustic charm, stunning lakefront views, and all the fun that comes with being right on Armstrong Lake. Each cabin has its own character, from vintage touches to cozy decks, while sharing access to a sandy beach, a water trampoline park, and other great amenities. The friendly free-roaming chickens, Sebastopol geese, and our two friendly dogs are always a hit with guests, adding a warm, personal touch you won’t find just anywhere.
