Bird of paradise, shooting

Bird of Paradise Beachfront Cottages can show you a new way to vacation. We bring the amenities of home to your own private beachfront oasis. Enjoy sleeping on one of two king size beds and lifting your head up to see pristine ocean staring back at you. Cook your own meals in our fully stocked kitchen including electric range, numerous utensils, and cookwares as well as full size washer and dryer. You can even choose where to bath, either inside or alfresco in the ocean side shower. If you've had to much sun and the air conditioning is more your speed feel free to lounge on the couch and watch some TV on our flat screen. Cool off in the private splash pool while staring out to find the cruise ships as they slowly pass by in the distance. Staying at The Shooting Star means you enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and world famous pink sand beach by day and outrageous sunsets and star gazing by night.

**Keep in mind that our neighbors Tippy's close for a period of time in September and October. Please call them for details. Tippy's is also next door to our Purple Papaya cottage, therefore you may hear some island vibes and tunes while outside, (this is of course out of our control).**

**Please also keep in mind that Eleuthera is a secluded island, therefore at times the island may shut off the water, as well as internet or electricity. Water pressure can be low as well, but this is all due to being on a secluded island, so please be patient with us. Any of this issues will not result in the guest getting compensated since this is out of our control**

Beautiful Stay at Shooting Star!

This property was perfect for our family of four! The girls loved the small swimming pool on the back patio and super easy assess to the beach. The house was very clean and well stocked for preparing meals, which we did several times, and had plenty of bath and beach towels for our use. It is also very close to many restaurant options if you prefer eating out. It was an amazing stay overall!

Absolutely fantastic property on the beach with a small pool. All modern amenities. Fabulous property manager. Look bed walking for miles on sandy beaches and walking next door to Tippy’s for great food, drinks and music. An absolutely fantastic place to stay. We will be back.

Oceanfront doesn't get any better!

House was great for 2 adult couples. Plenty of gathering space and full masters with en suites. House was well-appointed from beach chairs, to a portable cooler, and even an ironing board which was important because we were attending a wedding! Location was 10/10.

Our first trip to the Bahamas. It was great! And this was a great house. Nice to go back and forth from the pool to the ocean depending on the mood. Quiet and clean beach. We did lose water the last day but part of the island life.

Great Location

Great modern house with amazing view. The only way you could be closer to the ocean is if you were in it! Beds were very comfortable and it was great that there were beach chairs and snorkeling equipment to bring on our daily adventures. Caretaker is lovely and available for anything you might need.

Paradise Found!

This place is directly on a beautiful beach, yet conveniently near to wonderful businesses like Bacchus and Tippy's. You will never cease to be amazed by the views from every single window. This house is perfectly planned and impeccably clean. It has everything you could possibly need for a fantastic visit on Eleuthera. If this place is available, do yourself a favor, look no further!

We had a great week at Shooting Star! Great house, amazing beach and views and snorkeling right out front, pool was so nice. Great beach for long walks in both directions, close to grocery/restaurants/shops. All questions answered quickly, super nice people; on the island, Taracita was very helpful in answering questions, house was spotless. Smart house was fun. Kids loved the house. Very thoughtfully furnished, great beach house! Hope to get back!!

Amazing!

This home is absolutely amazing! It is in a gorgeous location and has everything you could want or need. We are a family of four and the infinity pool was perfect for our two children! The beds are comfortable, the view is stunning, and the area itself is just breathtaking. Even though you are close to the other two properties, you don’t notice at all as there is privacy shrubbery there which is great. The owner Alissa is wonderful and so is the property manager Tarictia. We will be back! Thank you so much!!!

Overall great property and experience

The house was beautiful, well stocked, and the smart house features with the music was an added nice touch. Only negatives are the infinity pool needs to be heated, as it was too chilly and windy most days we were there to use it. Also the screens and tracks need to be repaired on the living room and master bedroom, as the mesh is ripped and they don’t sit in their tracks right. Overall though it is a beautiful spot, upscale house with one of the nicest beaches we have stayed on throughout the islands.

Amazing house on an incredible island

My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our week in paradise while staying at Shooting Star! The house had everything that we needed to make the most of our stay in Eleuthera. My girls are four and six, so the Infiniti pool provided endless fun for them. Once the pool lost a little luster, it was a 15 second walk to the beautiful beach. The house also had beach toys for the kids, which were a huge hit! I was able to make the most of the snorkeling gear provided at the house by checking out the stunning coral just a stones throw off shore in front of the house. If you’re looking for a memorable experience in Eleuthera, Shooting Star is the place to stay!

Bird of Paradise Review

Beautiful location and beach but pool only worked 1 day out of 6. Also town is very remote and not many options for dining or groceries. Internet and TV went out often. Must buy bottled water by gallon. Rental car agency referred to us offered a 2012 Jeep Liberty with every warning light on. Luckily it didn’t break down on us and did have ac. We enjoyed our stay but listing the concerning issues we wish we had known in advance.

Pics don’t do this property justice!

Shooting Star is truly a great vacation rental — very clean, and bright, with all the needed amenities, and the perfect beachfront location to boot. We enjoyed the beach immensely, it’s gorgeous, and hopped over to Tippys several times throughout our stay, which was so convenient! Get a Bahama Mama, you won’t regret it! The owners are very nice, super responsive, and so easy to work with. You can tell they love the island of Eleuthera and love this property, as did we! Plus, Taracita is by far one of the best property managers out there, so sweet and helpful! Downstairs bathroom was a plus, in addition to each room upstairs having its own bathroom as well. Perfect location for 2 couples, or larger family. We loved every minute in this rental and are already talking about a return trip! Shooting Star is hands down a great property!!!

Incredible stay!

Wow wow wow! Seriously my favorite listing I've ever stayed. Better than pictures. The house is so adorable and modern. The decor is fantastic, the Sonos system was so great to have. The privacy was great! Neighbors don't get to see you while you are hanging outside. The house was very very clean. ALSOOO, I went with a group of 25. Paradise recommended a rental company. It was a little higher than other quotes I received . However, the conditions of the car were a lot better than what my family members received . So it's worth spending the extra $$ because I felt comfortable the entire week. Can't wait to go back!

Why they chose this property

We purchased the land where the Bird of Paradise Cottages now stand in 2004 on a complete whim with aspirations to eventually build. It wasn't until 2016 when we finally broke ground on three cottages that now sit facing the Atlantic Ocean just south of the famous Tippys. Eleuthera is a special place to us that has always served as a simple getaway.
