Great getaway property. Perfect for families and kids. Enjoy the Beachfront and 1000 acre lake. 8 Person Maximum - NO Pets or Smoking Allowed 3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 decks. Great fishing and water sports lake. Snowmobile and ATV tracks within 1 mile and some of the best off road trails around. We love our cottage and want to share it with you. We take great pride in keeping it clean in working order and are looking for consistent renters year over year.

Nice location, house is very close to the water and the lake has a nice sandy bottom and is shallow. The neighbors and area was nice and quiet. Owner was very prompt in responding and we appreciated him texting to make sure everything was good.

Nice relaxing place up north. Beach right outside the door. Great sitting area on the back porch. My favorite. Great friendly neighbors. We visited Manistee Lake pizzeria and bakery, twice. Great pizza, baked goods and ice cream. We were thankful to find this beautiful place on such a beautiful lake.

Family vacation

This rental is exactly what we wanted! The beach space was perfect for my family to hang out and play. The house was very clean, spacious, and up to date. I would have loved to have some more information on checkout processes such as with the blankets, sheets, garbage, etc. Overall, it was a great stay and we would love to return!

No need to ever look for another lake house!

Our family had an amazing experience. The house was beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for. We already plan to book for next year. The house and beach had everything we needed. We had privacy, yet loved our neighbors. The kids had so much fun, we never had to leave the house!

Had a wonderful time at the cottage. The location was perfect and the beach was amazing. We had 3 toddlers that absolutely loved the water. Its shallow for thr kids to play in the water and bbuild sand castles in the beautiful sand. Great fishing, kids caught a turtle and 18 in bass. I recommend this place to anyone with young children. Also it is great for adults as it has very beautiful sunsets and a relaxing atmosphere with extremely friendly neighbors. Great experience and memories.

Reality Getaway!

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We had a great time! The cottage was clean, newly renovated bathroom and an awesome kitchen table to fit plenty of people. The beach area was always clean and the neighbors provided plenty of toys for our kids to use. The lake was clean and the sunsets were the best. Plenty of sleeping space and the upstairs was comfortable to sleep with the air conditioning unit. The drive to Traverse City was much shorter than expected! Thanks again for the reality getaway!

The condo was very clean. Communication was simple. The beach area and lake views are very nice! Makes for great sunsets. We were disappointed to find out that this home was a double unit. In the pictures and the description you can tell there are other homes nearby but it wasn’t clearly stated that this property is actually a double and your neighbors are right beside you! Like in your conversation close! This might not have been a huge problem except that the people in the other unit were not very nice. I understand that rude neighbors are no fault of the owners but had I know it was not a detached house I could have chosen a different rental that was a single family house! As long as you know this going into the rental, and are ok with it, then the rental is great!

Great Time at a Great Location

We had a great short weekend at the Pardo cottage. It is just like the pictures, although they really don't show how nice it really is. The beach was real nice, and the kids had a great time swimming, playing in the sand, snorkeling in the water, and fishing off the dock. The weather was windy the first two days so the lake was choppy, but the last two it was amazing and like glass. We caught a nice 4lb small mouth off the end of the dock! The neighbors were nice and very welcoming. The only thing that was a bit of a surprise is that the property is more of a town house then a cottage, as it is shared with an identical home in the same building. It was not as secluded as we hoped, but that wasn't a huge issue in the end.

Overall, the place was great. Beautiful sandy beach. It is close quarters with everyone sharing the beach but that did not bother us. Everybody was friendly. One shared fire pit. The dock is in very shallow waters so harder to use. Easy communication with the owner. Great laundry appliances. The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner. Not terrible but dust & hair in the corners & behind the door. Regardless, we would stay again.

Beautiful sunset view but not much else to do.

Was disappointed that there was no room or space made for traveler's clothes and food supplies. The fridge had some of owner's food which should have been boxed and moved to a small area of the fridge. Didn't have coffee all week, coffee machine was strange. Freezer and cabinets were full, so we had to use the counter for the things we brought. Was able to only use the middle dock which had a boat and jet skis. This did not leave room to sit or fish off the dock. The sheets did not fit the beds very well and 1 bed had no sheets. The only shower held water, due to not being level. Otherwise, the place seemed clean and was only about 30 minutes from Traverse City.

Quiet location for our family getaway.

Overall- a good time

We had a great time at this cottage. I’d love to list the good and the bad (not even bad, just not as expected.) Good: the place is even better in person! The house is great, the lake it beautiful, such a calm and private lake. It also was so nice and on the warmer side so perfect for our toddlers. The house was fully stocked with anything you might need. The ac was nice and cold. But one room didn’t have it. The sand was lovely and such a fun time for my kids. it’s only 45/1hr drives to all the iconic things you might want to do. But careful, bc you have the beach righ outside your door, it’s hard to leave. We truly are so thankful for the owners sharing there home. Fun to be able to bring our little boat! Some of the cons: which aren’t terrible, i just like what I’m getting before booking. The listing is sort of vague. It’s Very Hard to contact the host anytime prior to the trip- although once we were there- he was responsive. 1. The place is a little busy w stuff. Like cabinets, cubbards, freezer, and closets are very full with things and food. Again, not a huge deal, but some homes are empty behind the essentials. And we didn’t have any freezer space. 2. We asked if there was a fire pit- before hand bc i would bring our own if not. He said they did. We didn’t see one when we got there- asked about it. And he said it was outside so we found one but it was the neighbors, we are so sorry to have used it! Turns out it’s like a shared fire pit off to the side two doors down, certainly didn’t feel like we could use it bc the condo that’s in front of it used it each night. 3. This condo is one of like 10/12 condos with a shared beach front. It seems like an old resort center that sold them off and now their privately owned. It still was VERY quiet on we only saw 1-2 other families. But just know it’s a duplex shared a w neighbor, and then possible to have all the other families as well. But a huge plus is there’s a cute swing set and climbing thing for the kids too! 4. The dock was broken and tied off so we couldn’t walk it or fish off it. 5. No directions for check in or check out. 6. The WiFi wasn’t working when we were there, due to the storm, certainly not the hosts fault but sounded like it had been for a couple days and would have loved to know, bc my father in law planned to work. (Just more communication) 7. Bunk bed ladder was broken

Wonderful Cottage on the Lake

We were so happy with everything about this place, a wonderful place to vacation with our 4 kids. The beach was sandy, water was clean and shallow. It is a duplex but the neighbors were kind and we couldn't hear anything through the walls. The fire pit is shared with the other cottages but we enjoyed the company. The appliances were very nice including the gas grill. The covered deck and furniture were wonderful. The only thing I wish we would have had were beach chairs or lawn chairs for around the fire, we used logs that were there. I never asked the owner if they had any, maybe they were there and we overlooked them. Of note, there is no king bed, it's a queen/full in both bedrooms, then a twin-full bunk with a twin trundle in the other bedroom. Perfect for our young family. Overall a great rental and we'd come back. Thank you so much!

Relaxing

Nice area on Manistee Lake. Lovely townhouse and Diana the cleaning lady is very nice and helpful...much more than the owners of whom I called numerous times and emailed and never heard back. The townhouse was fine and the lake very clean.

We are a family who have used this cottage for over 15 years as a place to relax and bond. There is so much to do and we feel relaxed when ever we go back home. Mackinac Island is only an hour away. Traverse City is 30 minutes. Petoskey is only 45 minutes. The wineries in Traverse City is a great day long getaway.

Why they chose this property

This is the perfect getaway and we purchased it to get away from work and the normal challenges of life. It is the perfect place to relax or spend time with your family. 8 people total

What makes this property unique

Great sunset views and fall colors. No better place to swim in the lake and allow your children to have some fun. Great area if you are retired as there is so much to do.
