The place was very cute. Looks just like the pictures. The deck area and hot tub were great and very relaxing. Being under the redwoods was beautiful! Definitely would come back!
We loved our stay at Ananda! Everything was clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable with a breathtaking view of nature. We loved the remoteness that was still close to the center of town. Having a couple of different sitting areas to enjoy our morning coffee in nature was also a plus to us.We’ll definitely book again when we are in the area.
My family and I LOVE this beautiful, cozy place!! My husband and I celebrate our 4 year anniversary here. It was the perfect getaway we needed!! The beds are so comfortable!!! I slept like a baby. The hot tub was clean and perfect! The host was very accommodating!! Rachel we so help with all my questions and was so easy to communicate with! We found our new little vacation spot!! Can’t wait to tell our friends and family about this gorgeous place!!Thank you so much again for a lovely visit!!
If you're looking for a cozy escape, don't hesitate to book this house. As a family of 4.5 (wife, me, two children, a dog), we are constantly going, going, going: We almost never relax. We didn't want a "busy" vacation, as the entire point of us getting away was to wind down and spend time together. In Monte Rio, that's exactly what we did. The house is small, but that's a GOOD thing! We all got to talk and laugh and spend time together, and there was no way to really be separate. Having the hot tub two hops from the door was magical, and we spent a lot of time in it every evening just telling stories and catching up.The TV is not a smart TV, so unless you bring your own device, you're watching cable. We didn't watch much, so we didn't notice.I still needed access to internet for emergency farm emails, as did my wife. Our daughter had an online math class that she had to attend. The internet was fast and never lagged or dropped. We love to cook, so I will say that the kitchen is "serviceable". There's not a lot of gear, but I was still able to roast, grill (outside), make pasta, etc. Be prepared: There's only four place-settings-worth of dishes and silverware, so you have to do dishes between every meal.Overall, the house is clean, cozy, and perfect for relaxing (coffee on the deck in the morning? YES!). I could see myself going there just to escape and write a book. Our kids want to go back to the North Coast, now, so that says a lot!
The setting is beautiful. The deck and hot tub are great. The bed we used I would rate and 8 out of 10. A dish rack and dish towels would be good for those of us that still hand wash dishes. Some pot holders would be great too.The main negative is the road to the house. I know there is nothing that can be done about that but if you plan on using the house as a staging area where you come and go frequently, be prepared for that road.
