This 1865 House was my husband's boyhood home where his family raised their four sons. They sold the house to a young attorney where he proceeded to raise his family. The house was again for sale in 2007 and we had the opportunity to make it our home. Charlie spent a year working on the interior to bring it back to its restored condition. He then began to restore the exterior as you see it today.
Sharon purchased this House in 2007
Why Sharon chose Town of New Haven
Why This Property? The 1865 House is the fourth oldest house that still stands in Fayetteville. Located on the main street of town, it is an inviting residence that even from the sidewalk you can enjoy the pride of ownership. Our home is located directly across from The Gaines Estate, Destination Wedding Venue . Charlie and I have always enjoyed staying in older homes, the quaintness and charm they offer, we think, is a timeless treasure.
What makes this House unique
The unique benefits of being a guest at the 1865 House is the proximity to walking distance to charming restaurants, quaint shops, and local theatre. We also offer our 1904 Townhouse located right downtown next to The Historic Fayette Theatre, coming on the market this June, 2020.
