Everything was perfect! Cabin was clean, beds were comfy and kitchen well stocked. We enjoyed swimming in the lake. We also rented a pontoon beach for the day. Communication with the owner was easy and response was quick. Thank you!! Oh and the fireworks were amazing!!!
The location was perfect, we had everything we needed, and had a wonderful stay. Can’t wait to visit again!

Great place
We enjoyed a stay here with extended family. There was room enough for everyone and we enjoyed the little details, the multi-level deck and being able to rent the boat!
We loved our stay at this wonderful, quaint cabin. So close to the Land Between the Lakes area where we went off roading, shooting, swimming, and saw elk and bison. We loved the area and want to come back in the Summer to enjoy all the warm weather activities! Lucas was great to work with!! Fantastic trip!
Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Please let us know how we can help in the future.

Wonderful cabin! Beautiful views!
We had a wonderful time at the log cabin! It was very beautiful and more than we expected. We got to experience a lot while on our stay! Lucas was wonderful and was there for anything we needed!
Very close to turkey bay and elk and bison prairie, house is on the road right off the bridge to get to LBL, beautiful lake views, we had a blast fishing and off roaring at LBL. Exactly what our family needed for fall break! Thank you for having us!
Great area for nice getaway with friends and family. Spacious and great area for water sports..
My 11 year old son and friends and family all loved the vacation and enjoyed the lake access. Along with the amazing property owner’ amazing communication. I couldn’t of asked for a better time for enjoying the lake and the Lake Barkley marina service was amazing.
We had the best time for a two night, three day visit at the cabin. It was a wonderful time for three high school classmates. We loved the accommodations, the views and how clean everything was. We talked, we laughed and we even shared a few tears. Thank you for our first outing and we hope to do it again.
The cabin was fantastic!! Warm enough even this October for swimming in the lake. The cabin was clean, well equipped for family living. We used the grill and ate on the deck at sunset. Comfy beds, comfy family room, everything just perfect! Thanks so much. We want to come again.
Me, my husband, my cousin and her husband stayed in this beautiful cabin looked like they painted the outside so doesnt look like the picture but it had a beautiful view and very quiet place so if u want quiet that is your place it was a great place for my dads 50th birthday party and the host was very nice too because we needed more parking
The deck is beautiful. The view is very nice. Although the property is located in a neighborhood, there is a feeling of seclusion on the deck. The television was very easy to use.
The owner recommended a pizza from the Sinclair gas station, and it was surprisingly excellent.
The house was very rustic with an incredible view of the lake. The bedrooms were quite large and the gather space downstairs was excellent. Great bonus to be able to bring our dog. The owner was super helpful during the Covid 19 pandemic. The only downside was the kitchen was a bit small and it needs some new skillets. Overall it was a great experience.

We loved the cabin!
Everything was ready for us when we arrived after dark just like the listing promised and clean. Can't think of anything else we could have asked for. The view of the lake/river was great. There are plenty of amenities nearby. We took the short drive into Cadiz and ate at a good restaurant the first night. Hopefully next time we will get to stay a little longer. We would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone. Thank you!!
This is an amazing property. The view is breathtaking. Everyone in my family reads to include my 10 year old and the sun room was a perfect spot for it when days got hot allowing perfect view of the water. The bridge is in sight of the property as well which a treat at night when it is lit up.
We fished every morning off the bank of the property which was a perfect situation for quiet and relaxing. We will definitely be back.
Terrible Stay, rodent infested saw 3 rats. Owner brought us mouse traps. Rodent dropping fresh every morning in kitchen and utensil drawers. Ceiling leaking in kitchen right next to electrical box. Couldn’t watch movies terrible wifi. Bugs on all window sills. Towels had holes in them. Bottom floor freezing upper floor too hot to sleep. No lake access had a homemade ladder with no rails to water very dangerous. Putting this review so other peoples vacations are not ruined

Response from VrboOwner on 16 Aug, 2025
Thank you for your feedback! It seems there’s some confusion regarding the refund request related to a claim of shoulder pain. I spoke with VRBO, and they confirmed that there were no reported issues until just two nights before checkout.
Additionally, the claim to leave early due to an emergency is a bit puzzling since you chose to stay in the home until 1 PM on those days. Since you missed checkout, you effectively booked an extra night that was already reserved.
This situation highlights the importance of traveler’s insurance for unexpected emergencies. As for your claim of a mouse sighting, our property has been thoroughly inspected, and no evidence of rodents has been found—your husband even reassured us that nothing else was seen. In 42 years living on this street we've never seen a rat, it is possible a guest could have brought one tho.
For transparency, I'm happy to provide screenshots of our conversations. Just a note: your reservation was made during a promotion that offered discounts for last-minute bookings, and we even included complimentary access to a pontoon during your stay. The only requirements were for you to fill the boat with fuel, you did not do so and canceled the card you had on file, leaving me with the fuel bill.
Wishing you all the best!
We had a nice time this weekend.
Location was great, cabin is roomy with owner providing many things we needed for our stay. We did get a very good rate for this time of the year.
Suggestions we would make are:
-living room area is dark, needs overhead lighting(looks like a fixture was there at one point)
-mattresses and sectional need to be updated as my family didn't sleep well because mattresses, sectional weren't supportive
-door knobs need to be replaced on some doors as it's hard to tell if doors are locked or not
-Wifi isn't the greatest and tv needs to be replaced
We stayed in this cabin for my son and my birthday that is in the same weekend (memorial weekend)
The mason jar lights add so much character to this place. It was spacious with breathtaking views and offered many extra fun touches with wooden tables cut from trees, corrugated barn metal in the upstairs bath and the log steps leading to the second story.
My sons favorite place to be was the sunroom off the family room he loved being able to look around outside and play with his trucks and spiderman in an environment where we didn’t have to worry about breaking many things.
We enjoyed our stay, the owner was very friendly and accommodating

About the host
Hosted by Lucas Hale
I own a sawmill just down the road and we do some property management along with many other endeavors. We purchased The Log Cabin in early May 2013 and have been rapidly doing some much needed maintenance.
What makes this property unique
This is a quiet neighborhood on the water. The multiple decks leading down to the lake give you the opportunity to experience several views of the water and the Barkley Bridge. On quiet mornings or early twilight, I have seen otters, beavers, deer, geese, ducks, and plenty of fish floppings! From time to time, an adult eagle can be seen hunting in the bay area.
