We booked this VRBO over a month in advance, but when we arrived after traveling from Texas, we walked into a home that was clearly not ready for guests. Dirty sheets were left on the floor, the entire place was dirty, and it was obvious it hadn't been properly cleaned.Getting in touch with the host was difficult, and instead of resolving the issue themselves, they gave us the cleaners' phone number. The cleaners said they were on the way, which meant we had to sit and wait while the property was cleaned and the bedding was washed. Even then, the cleaning was very basic—just a quick sweep, mop, and wipe-down of the bathrooms. The mattresses were stained, and there weren't even any towels for us to shower with, so we had to go buy our own.The worst part is that waiting for the cleaning caused us to miss the reservation that was the entire reason for our trip. VRBO did provide us with a partial refund, but the host's only offer was an extra hour at checkout, which didn't make up for everything we lost.To make matters worse, the cleaner arrived with a group of people, creating unnecessary commotion, and seemed upset with us over a situation that wasn't our fault.This was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. We will never book this property again.
