Great venue

This was the perfect place to have out of town family stay in conjunction with my daughters high school graduation. It was the perfect size. Everyone had space. Kitchen is amazing. Everyone said all the beds were great. Backyard is perfect to enjoy after the sun goes down. Really a great , unique place to celebrate.

This was an amazing property. I got married here. My wedding was beautiful and easy.

My experience couldn't have been better. My wedding was perfect and our stay was easy. The house tables chairs and coolers made things easy and simple. The backyard is a dream.

Wedding week

The Olde House was the perfect place to have a small wedding. The kitchen was fantastic. It accommodated all of our needs and then some and boasting with added amenities. Colton was fantastic to work with.

Awesome Wedding Venue

Rented the property for the weekend and had friends and family stay with us. We got married in the back yard and everything went flawless. The house is beautiful and they did an amazing job restoring it. We will definitely rent it again for future events!

Great Place for a Small Wedding

We rented this home for a wedding venue. We had family stay at the house for a few days preceding as well. There is ample space in the house as well as the backyard. The home is old and charming with all the modern amenities. Great find!

Good little venue

Over all i would say it was decent, most venues you get for entire day and didnt even get for 24 hours so i could not have party at the time i wanted other wise i would have had to do for another night but house was great and very clean and well stocked.. just kinda wish there was not a tv in the front room looks so out of place ginlven the age of the home ..

2nd Annual Writing Retreat a success!

For the second year in a row, our writing group LOVED our long weekend in the Olde House. It is obvious the owners take excellent care of the place and are responsive to feedback. The few minor complaints we had last time (slow internet, etc) were addressed and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay. We are already looking forward to next year.

Moms 85th Birthday Party

We searched and searched to find the perfect birthday venue. This was it. Plenty of rooms for gatherings. Kitchen was amazing with room for serving. Sitting was everywhere. Beds were comfy with lots of extra quilts! Also used the party room to play games! It was a win for everyone who came

Wonderful family reunion venue

We had a large group of 15 family members stay at this lovely property. It was everything the listing promised. The gourmet kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes to make cooking a breeze. Everyone slept comfortably in the well apportioned bedrooms. The living spaces were spacious and comfortable. We also rented the adjacent party venue for an event. It was perfect for our get together. We very much enjoyed our stay and all of our needs and questions were met with prompt responses from the host. We would definitely stay again!

Highly Recommended

Fabulous, spacious property. We used for a wedding and had lots of kitchen space to get food ready. The rooms were spacious and the two extra half baths were nice! Wonderful old house charm! Recommend opting for the wedding package for the venue addition with all the tables and chairs, ice chests, and air conditioned/heated space which came in handy! Most reasonable priced venue we could find in the area with the ability to use as a venue and have rooms for our guests to stay! We enjoyed our visit and highly recommend The Olde House!

Perfection

I had a retreat with a group of 10 ladies. Our theme was realizing that we are princesses in the Kingdom of God. This whole place seemed royal and was perfect for creating royal atmosphere. The table was perfect for our use. We enjoyed the kitchen, which was larger than I expected.That downstairs bedroom and bathroom were so awesome! The upstairs rooms were beautiful, too. My only complaint is that the piano was out of tune and the sustain peddle didn't work. We use a piano in our ministry time, so we would have brought a keyboard with us if we would have known.But, it worked out in the end. I really hope we get to use this facility again in the future!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful home.

First the house is a beautiful blast back in time. So many places to explore throughout the home. We had 6 adults and there was room for each to have their own space, yet there are other spaces to get together. It was really perfect for a family get together. The kitchen was modern and great for the cook and other folks to sit nearby and chat. The living room has a gas fireplace and TV. Lots of time was spent there. Nothing went wrong, and when we had a question, Colton got right back to us. We are from Alaska, and had a great time staying in the old house and visiting Wylie.

Too short!

This is an incredible property, located about 25-30 minutes to the east of Plano (where we were visiting family). Plenty of space in the house for our two kids and in-laws. The kitchen is incredible, clearly designed for entertaining. We were able to gather safely in the huge backyard with plenty of space for physical distancing with friends and family. Street noise was present, but did not disturb our stay. We were walking distance from the quaint downtown area of Wylie, which also has a small park with playscape within 10 minutes walk. Colton was an excellent host, and made sure that check in went without a hitch. Would definitely stay again!

Nice Big Clean Historic Home

Positives: house was Big, clean, huge modern kitchen for lots of people to gather, well-stocked pantry, loved having a washer/dryer available, 4 toilets, recliners, & nice fenced-in backyard. Air conditioning was able to keep up in the Texas heat but we had to lower the thermostat to 70 to keep the house a cool 75 degrees. The host was great about communicating before the trip. House had a lot of cool/interesting features. Town of Wiley was adorable & Frankie's Casa Tex Mex was AMAZING! Negatives: says sleeps 13 without air mattresses, in reality, it would only be 11 if there were 2 people in the 1 king, 3 queens, 1 double, & twin. We had 10 adults, so it worked without having to use air mattresses. Double bed needs a flat platform under the mattress due to a thin mattress on boards that you could feel. We put that mattress on the floor to sleep. Bedroom lamps had shorts in them. Main room couch needs replacing, it swallowed anyone who sat on it. House on busy street, a bit tricky pulling in & out. Front door VERY hard to close. We left several recommendations to make a stay more accommodating & user-friendly such as: having a guest folder with instructions, fans, ext cords, more lamps (house was dark), Wi-Fi ext upstairs, etc. We had one major issue with the ovens, both broken & not working. We called, texted, & emailed. It took several hours before anyone responded. No one ever came out to fix the problem while we were there.
