This was a great place to stay at. The mountain views were a little hidden by the trees, but overall a great place to stay at. Inside was so nice and clean.

Really appreciated that the cabin was away from the main road thru Wears Valley. Being in a community lent a feeling of security and we still had a sense of privacy. The cabin was clean and as-advertised and the beds comfortable. A couple areas of the interior are showing a little age, such as the stair treads, but as it is an all-wood interior this just made it feel comfortable, like a well-worn jacket. Overall a very enjoyable stay

The cabin was cute and clean, but there were a few things about the experience that were a little lacking.-Out behind the cabin, there was a fair bit of trash between the cabin and the woods that kind of spoiled the view.- The amenities in the cabin were kind of bare-bones. There were 4 of us and we got exactly 4 towels and 4 rolls of toilet paper, which felt a little stingy. No coffee, so plan to bring your own.- This is on me for not looking at the pictures closely, but this is not really alone in the woods - it’s part of a little subdivision with a bunch of cabins pretty close together.

Positive notes: The cabin its self is nice. It needs the usual maintenance however our issues are not with the cabin. Hot water! And great water pressure!A/C works fantastic!The layout with sleep areas up and down stairs nice!Negative:Location. In the listing with 89 pictures. One word at the very end of last page says “resort”. We were expecting what the pictures showed. However we were shocked to pull up to a neighborhood of cabins so close you can hear the people next door. In the listing it stated toilet paper, paper towels provided. There were tiny amts on the roll and no more. Hand and dish soap same. No cleaning products nor cloths to use. One towel and washcloth per person and no detergent to wash. Kitchen is poorly stocked with cooking utensils. The ice maker is broken and has been for a while. There are 2 tiny ice trays as a work around yet one has a hole. 3 adults… 2 tiny ice trays. Windows are dirty. Overall needs a good clean. Gas grill in pics but charcoal instead. Biggest thing. When I messaged management about all of these things the response was they would look at ways to make it better for future guests. Not even bringing any extra supplies or cleaning products. My advice… read every single word before you go. And don’t rent this cabin unless you want to pay 1900.00 for 8 nights and plan on bringing everything you could possibly need including paper products and cleaning products. As well as kitchen needs for cooking. So much potential.

We’re glad you enjoyed the cabin itself, particularly the layout, excellent water pressure, hot water, and air conditioning, but we are disappointed that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We do want to clarify a few points for future guests reading this review. The cabin is located within a cabin resort community, rather than on a secluded private property, and we will review our listing to make sure that is communicated as clearly and prominently as possible. We never want a guest to arrive expecting a different setting. Regarding supplies, we provide a starter supply of paper products, soaps, and other essentials to help guests get settled upon arrival. Because this is a vacation rental rather than a hotel with daily housekeeping, guests staying for an extended period may need to purchase additional supplies during their stay. That said, we appreciate your feedback and will review how this is explained in the listing so expectations are clearer before booking. We are also taking your comments regarding the kitchen inventory, ice maker, ice trays, windows, grill, linens, and overall cleanliness seriously. Those are areas we can inspect and address. We especially agree that anything pictured or described in the listing should accurately reflect what guests can expect when they arrive. We also regret that our response when you contacted management felt dismissive. Even when an issue cannot be immediately resolved, guests should feel that their concerns have been heard and that reasonable efforts are being made to help during their stay, not simply after their departure. We appreciate both the positive comments and the criticism. This cabin means a great deal to us, and feedback like yours helps us identify where communication, maintenance, and the guest experience can be improved. We hope the enjoyable aspects of the cabin still allowed you to make some good memories during your time in the Smokies.

My husband and I fell in love with Smokies when we came to visit the first time with my 3 boys and parents. Romancing the Clouds gives me the getaway I need from my daily routine and still have my kids with me. We love traveling and vacationing. It might be staying at 5 stars hotels, exploring another country, bag packing adventure trip, or glamping we done it. Smokies is my all time favorite destination because of the smoky mountains and bears in the wilderness. Hiking and relaxing in the hot tub with glass of wine is my favorite thing to do when I am there. Romancing the Clouds can have my kids under one roof with me and we still have a nice blend of romantic getaway, outdoor activities, relaxation.

The highest compliment you can give Romancing the Clouds, is come visit us again or refer your friend. We would be DELIGHTED!
