Kevin has a nice setup here. When you need a space to getaway from the city that is Oahu now, this is that place. I needed something to remind of how home used to be and Waianae is it.

Great Beach Front Stay

Kevin's place was a great stay! Close to the beach and nice pool at the property. The unit itself was well set up, and had everything we needed.

Exactly what we were hoping for

Kevin was a wonderful host who recommended beaches and places to eat. He went out of his way to accommodate our needs. The unit was clean and secure. Wonderful location. When we make our way back to the island we know where we will stay.

Great Property

Kevin is so very easy to deal with. We arrived, opened the door, and the view is spectacular. The kitchen has everything you could need. The full-size fridge/freezer has a great ice maker for drinks on the Laini(sp). The bed is great, the view is great, this is one of the best studios we have rented. We enjoyed our stay of thirty days, highly recomend. Five STARS

Amazing vacation!

This place was perfect for the two of us. We have been to Hawaii numerous times usually staying with family. This time we decided to get our own spot and that’s exactly what it felt like, Our own home. It had everything we needed. The upgrades were nice and the place was clean. Waking up to the sounds of the birds and crashing waves of Makaha Beach was amazing. It was an easy drive to get anywhere on the island. We love staying out of Waikiki and away from all the tourist and this is the perfect place to be away from it all. Great local food was just a short drive away. Anytime I emailed Kevin he immediately replied. He was a great host. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I spent 10 awesome days at Kevin’s condo. We were very happy with the location as we wanted a quiet place away from busy Honolulu. The beach right outside the condo had beautiful sunsets and we enjoyed watching the surfers. We found beautiful Yokohama beach 10 min away that we spent many days swimming in the waves and watching whales. Strong, confident swimming a must...waves can be big and current strong. Check in was simple and we found the condo had all we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we fell asleep to the waves nightly. The two fans and open window in the evening kept the place nice and cool. The kitchen had every thing we needed and we found the ice maker in the freezer a real bonus to keep our bevies nice and chilled. We appreciated the beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels and boogie board. All in all we were very happy and would stay again. Thank you Kevin

We LOVED this condo!

We are so happy we booked this condo. The lanai overlooking the surfing beach is wonderful. Such a beautiful view and so fun to watch the surfers ride the waves. We loved listening to the sound of the waves at night. The condo is right on the beach with no road between and it is nice to be able to just put on a bathing suit and walk to the beach. The unit itself has been recently remodeled and is lovely. It is very well equipped - had everything we needed and the welcome gift was a nice touch. The bed is very comfy. The wifi worked great and it was nice to have the cable TV to watch the superbowl. The pool is heated and really nice. Most of the people here come back year after year and know each other - they were very friendly and it was fun talking to them in the pool. There is an outdoor grill that we used one night. We found lots of fun things to do - hiking out to the tip to see the albatross and seals; hiking up to the pillbox; swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the lanai. Highly recommended and we hope to come back!

Everything was as I imagined

Kevin's condo in Makaha Shores was wonderful. Sitting right on the famous Makaha beach I was able to enjoy the beach during the day and the sounds of the crashing waves at night. The condo is exactly as described and is laid out beautifully. The bed was more comfortable than I imagined and the trade winds going through kept the condo deceptively cool. If you want to be in Hawaii but not in the tourist center, head out to the West side and stay at the Shores.

Great place!

We had a lovely time here & Kevin was great to work with! I definitely recommend this place! We would definitely consider staying here again if we ever go back to Oahu. The only negative was the construction noise from renovations in the parking garage & downstairs apt. Not something anyone has control over tho & things like that must be done at some point! We enjoyed watching the kid’s surfing competition from our lanai!!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at this condo. Everything was exactly as we had hoped; right at the beach, all the amenities, friendly people and at a good price. One thing to be aware of is that it is adjacent to a public beach area where families go on the weekend and one group had some music going for most of one day. We were out most of the time so not a problem but something to be aware of. Thanks Kevin, we really enjoyed our stay!

The condo is well-stocked, spotless, and the bed is SO COMFORTABLE. We loved hearing the waves and birds and watching the surf and beach activity. Snorkeling and boogie boarding was lots of fun. We did do some exploring and tourist activities around the island, but enjoyed our time close to the condo more. We loved hiking to Kaena Point and watching the whale action.

Kevin's condo was very nicely appointed and we very thankful for the cleaning supplies to be able to wash dishes or run the dishwasher. The condo matched the online pictures which were very helpful. This location was in a quiet area and we really enjoyed watching the local surfers ride the waves on a daily basis. This was the place to unplug and relax while watching the water. Our only suggestion would be for an additional smaller skillet and some extra bath towels be purchased to assist with cooking and to prevent from having to do laundry while on vacation.

We just love Makaha! Ocean sounds all night, fresh air, beautiful sunrises and sunsets!!

The studio is just perfect for two people. Comfortable bedding, big fluffy towels, extras of cooler, beach chairs and such to.use as needed. The place feels secire, safe, and quiet in the evenings other than the sounds of birds and the ocean.

Kevin is a very attentive host and we had everything we needed. His place was exactly the perfect get away off the beaten path. Makala Beach is right outside the door with a beautiful view from the lenai. It was so relaxing to sit out there in the morning soaking up the ocean view and watching the ocean surf roll in to shore. Also, it’s away from the crazy busy touristy atmosphere but close enough to many fun tourist activities and beautiful golf courses. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing vacation.

Perfect space for 2 people and away from touristy Waikiki! We enjoyed our stay of 8 nights.

Only issue we encountered was that it was hot during our stay and no A/C. I’m guessing it was unusually hot during our stay because locals we encountered even said it was hot. Other than it being hot everything was perfect for our stay!

Overall the place was cozy, clean, and had a nice view of the beach from the porch. My husband loves to surf, it was a good spot to do so and the surfboard they provided was in good shape. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax without the crowds from the resort, this is perfect.

My sister and I had a lovely week in Hawaii. The condo is great, all renovated and clean. Kevin is a great host, super fast with replies. The place is well organized and he thinks about all the details. The welcome treats, the sunscreen, the coffee, the dishwashing liquid, spices, oil, etc. The beach equipment is the best!! Traveling from Canada we can't carry all that gear, it was so nice to have an umbrella, comfortable chairs, a cooler, boogie board, surfboard and snorkel gear! Or else, the beach at the end of the street was one of our favourites around. Or else, you have access to anywhere you want on the island within short to an hour drive and then you get to come home to a lovely beachfront condo and fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves! The neighbourhood is slightly rough but we feel totally safe at the apartment building, there's a security guard and everyone we met was kind! We would definitely stay there again and make new memories!! Thanks for everything Kevin!

A nice place on the West Coast of Oahu to stay

The condo was just as advertised, clean and with an ocean view. I had a relaxing time with a nice ocean view ride up the coast. The blue tooth speaker was a nice touch. Everyone in the complex was friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.

My family and I have lived on the westside of Oahu for 20 years. We have done just about everything this island has to offer. We enjoy surfing, swimming, hiking, diving, snorkeling, camping, boating, and golfing. We are from Portland, Oregon and go back and visit every year. Before moving to Hawaii I lived in Lake Tahoe, Nevada Incline Village where I was apart of the National Ski Patrol Association.

Why they chose this property

I chose this property because it's a piece of "Real Hawaii." The beach, ocean, mountains, valleys, and the surfing is outstanding!! It's away from all the craziness of the city and resorts. The only sound you hear at night are the waves crashing on the beach. This is our surf shack.
