And while on vacation, why not pamper yourself with a relaxing day at Wintergreen’s spa?
At Green Oak Cabin, we invite you to unwind, sink into our luxurious, buttery soft leather sofa, take in the views, and breath in fresh mountain air. Our group of two families very much enjoyed our stay here. Rustic in the right ways with all the amenities you could need. We will look to book this property again in the future
My husband, our two daughters, and I had a wonderful stay at Green Oak Cabin! The view could not have been more spectacular. The house was incredibly clean and well-equipped. We loved the wrap-around porches. Hoping to return sometime for fall colors!
Our family loved our stay - especially the rope swing, quiet/privacy, proximity to Wintergreen, wrap around porch with beautiful sunsets, well-equipped kitchen, games for kids, and huge open first floor.
We absolutely loved our time at the cabin over this past weekend. The property was stunning and so cozy, the perfect place for a fall (or any time!) weekend. We will absolutely be returning many times in the future.
I’d have to say, it was brilliant! The view, the rooms, it was amazing! We loved our stay. The whole cabin, it was gorgeous, cozy, and spectacular! The view was absolutely gorgeous, especially during sunset/sunrise. It is a great place to relax during the weekends/holidays. 10/10, would recommend.

Fabulous mountain views!
Really a wonderful cabin- central location and just amazing views. Wonderfully outfitted kitchen. Very cozy and inviting feel to the house. Loved that the house was well stocked with games and movies. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars would be the spiral stairs to the bedrooms- not the easiest to navigate; and lack of air conditioning- in the winter this wouldn't be a problem, but it was a hot weekend when we were there- not uncomfortable, but it did warm up.

Thanks Elizabeth. We are so glad you had a great trip. And of course we love the views too!
About the a/c. One reason Wintergreen is so great is that it's typically fifteen degrees cooler on the mountain than in the valley below. So even in the summer, the house feels cool with the doors open and the fans going. That said, there are usually a few days in the summer that get really hot. For those, we have a large plug-in a/c unit that does the trick keeping things cool. So we have never needed central a/c.
We love the beauty and charm of the spiral staircase, and hope you did too. But because of it, we don't recommend the house for people who are mobility impaired. Our small children, ages 7 months to 8 years old, have never had a problem with the stairs, and there is even a built-in baby gate to close off the lower level.
We are so glad you enjoyed your trip and hope to have you back again soon!

We were looking for a quiet and cozy cabin for a much needed escape and belated anniversary celebration. Green Oak Cabin, nestled in beautiful Wintergreen, did not disappoint. The cabin was inviting, clean, perfectly located, and provided all we need. We enjoyed a perfect blend of being outdoors in the early autumn weather to quiet time reading or enjoying the deck, and even some long-forgotten board games and a spin on the rope swing. Five stars, would definitely recommend. Many thanks to Jarrod and Chelsea for sharing their home.

Skiing at Wintergreen
Eight of us celebrated birthdays over MLK holiday weekend. Between skiing and hiking, it was a great trip. The cabin is well appointed and furnished. Close to the slopes. The view is outstanding! The woodstove was great. One warning: the cabin's two bathrooms are on the level below the living/kitchen area via a narrow, spiral stairway. Although it was not a problem for us, it could be difficult for people who find stairs challenging.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the review, and so glad you had a great trip. The amazing view, the potbelly stove, and the close proximity to all the amenities in Wintergreen are all things that sold us on the cabin. We especially like that it's a true mountain cabin feel; in contrast to most of the places in Wintergreen, which feel like homes in any suburban neighborhood.
And we agree about the stairs: we do not recommend the cabin for people who find stairs challenging.
Hope to have you back soon!

1st time to Wintergreen
We had a lovely stay at Green Oaks. It is truly a cozy cabin in the woods. The owner and property manager were very responsive to any issues we came across. As noted in a few of the other reviews some of the windows on the lower level were not very secure and/or had cracks. A storm blew through and one window flew open in the night and another had a crack so big that the curtain was sucked out. This was not a major concern for us, but could be for someone else. We would totally stay again assuming that the stove and oven are in working condition.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for writing a review, and so glad you had a nice stay. Just FYI, we have secured the window you had a problem with and fixed the cracks in the others, so should be all set. Look forward to having you up another time!
This spot was perfect for our group of 8 friends looking for a springtime weekend retreat. The space is quirky and cute. The couch is soooo comfortable— as are all the beds. The view is lovely. We adored watching the storm clouds roll through the mountains, so we didn’t even turn on the tvs. The stairs are a little sketch, but there’s an exterior door on the lower level. Bring your bags in and out that way for safety’s sake. I also recommend you bring your own folding chairs if you come in the summer. The porches are phenomenal, but the chairs that are there are prettier than they are functional. Everything else is well-stocked though. Plenty of glasses, plates, pots, pans, and anything else you might want.
This cabin was perfect for our needs. We traveled with our three kids, ages 17, 21 and 24. The location, near the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, and the local wineries/breweries/cideries, was close to perfect. It was a reasonable distance from Staunton, Charlottesville, and the Virigina Safari Park, which we also visited on day trips during our stay, and on our last day we drove home via Skyline Drive. The cabin is clean and comfortable, and the views are amazing. The only thing I would have liked was a book that had brochures and recommendations for the area. I've seen these in many of the rental homes we've stayed at, and never thought much of it, but missed it when we didn't have one! We didn't discover until our last day that there was a hook that holds open the front door to the cabin so that you get a nice cross-breeze of mountain air through the front and back screen doors. I wish we had noticed that sooner! We would recommend this home, and look forward to returning.
We loved our short stay and plan to return later this year. It was a rainy, mostly overcast weekend, so unfortunately, we did not get to experience the sunset view, but nevertheless enjoyed our relaxing moments out on the back deck. The cabin was clean, well-appointed, had comfortable beds, and reminded me of a treehouse!! All wood inside and out— so unique and rustic in all the right ways. Communication with the host was excellent and answered any questions that we had. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryers, etc. TV had Netflix, which was a bonus for our 13 y/o and he, along with the other two teenagers enjoyed exploring outside, using the rope swing in front of the cabin and summer tubing at The Plunge and playing mini golf right there on the resort. We had a great dinner at the Copper Mine Restaurant, also on the resort. Had a picnic lunch at Sherando Lake Park and visited Ravens Roost Overlook —breathtaking views!! There was so much more we wanted to do but not enough time. All the more reason to come back! Highly recommend!! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your cute cabin for the weekend!!
The cabin was comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view of the mountains. The kitchen was well appointed, and there was plenty of seating for our group of seven in the open-concept upstairs. It is conveniently located near the summit of Wintergreen—close to activities, a little market and more. We had a lovely time!
The ladies (all of us 68 yrs old) loved being outside on the porch enjoying the gorgeous view! The stairs were a bit of a challenge for some who wished there were a restroom on the first floor. The location was perfect, and we went on some beautiful day hikes. Jarrod and Chelsea could not have been nicer, and I appreciate the excellent communication from them!
We had a great last weekend of summer in this cute and comfy cabin. The kitchen was well appointed, the view was great and the beds were really comfortable. The main bedroom was perfect for my husband and me. The 3 remaining are small but everybody liked the coziness of them and slept really well so no complaints there. Would definitely rent this place again.
The views are everything they said they would be.
It was fun being in the mountains and exploring the area.
Communication was very good and the place had pretty much anything you might need. Had to deal with a few critters.
We would definitely rent this place again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Green Oak Cabin. Breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge mountains. Spacious open main floor and all the rooms on the lower floor. As it is described, the stairwell can be difficult to navigate for older individuals. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy.
We had a great time! The cabin was a perfect size and had a nice rustic feel. We enjoyed every beautiful sunset with amazing views in every direction. The location was great and made drop off at the ski area easy. It was a fun weekend with family and friends. Thank you for sharing your home.
We enjoyed staying here for our ski trip. Kitchen was well stocked, house was cozy and clean. The view was absolutely beautiful! Close to the ski slopes. We would definitely stay again.
Our group has made the trip to Wintergreen seven times so far and this was our favorite by far. Wide open floor plan on the main level, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds .The view is stunning! We took many great photos of the sunsets and the fog rolling over the ridges and filling the valley. Would recommend to anyone.
