About this property

Historic Queen Anne Victorian - 4BR/4BA Kirkwood

Stay in a meticulously renovated 1910 Queen Anne Victorian, believed to be the oldest Queen Anne Victorian home in Kirkwood. This spacious 4BR/4BA home blends historic Atlanta character with modern comfort, featuring a signature turret, wraparound porch, 12-ft ceilings, handmade cabinetry, antiques, cozy book nooks, smart TVs, multiple workspaces, and a huge backyard shaded by mature trees.

The space
This historic Queen Anne Victorian is full of character, craftsmanship, and room to spread out. The home features 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, three living spaces, multiple work areas, a large kitchen, two dining areas, a wraparound porch, back deck, balcony, and a spacious fenced backyard.

The layout works especially well for families, groups, remote workers, and longer stays. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms on the main level, plus 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs.

Main level:
The main level includes two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms, the main living room, a secondary living room/study, kitchen, dining areas, laundry room, and access to the wraparound porch, back deck, and yard. The main living room has high ceilings, hardwood floors, comfortable seating, and an open flow into the kitchen and dining space. The secondary living room includes a large desk, record player, vinyl collection, and shelves of books — a great spot to work, read, or unwind.

Kitchen & dining:
The kitchen is one of the home’s standout spaces, with handmade cabinetry crafted by the owner, a gas range, farmhouse sink, center prep island, coffee station, and generous storage. One dining area seats 8 and features a one-of-a-kind table crafted from a restored original door from the home. A second dining area connects the kitchen to the back porch and backyard, making it easy to gather for meals before heading outside.

Upper level:
Upstairs, the primary suite includes a king bed, vaulted ceilings, sitting area, smart TV, bedside USB-A and USB-C chargers, and a full attached bathroom. The second upstairs bedroom includes one queen bed and two full beds, making it a great setup for families, kids, or groups. The upper level also includes another full bathroom, a third living space, a cozy book nook with vintage books, a desk, and a private balcony overlooking the backyard.

Outdoor spaces:
Outside, guests can enjoy a large fenced backyard with mature trees, a back deck with outdoor dining and grill, a wraparound porch, basketball hoop with a ball provided, and a vintage barn relocated from the owner’s family home in North Georgia. The property also features handmade art pieces created by the owner, both inside and outside the home.

Location:
The home is right by Atlanta’s PATH trail, making it easy to walk, run, bike, or explore Kirkwood and nearby neighborhoods. Kirkwood Village is about a 10–12 minute walk away, with local favorites like Taproom Coffee, Le Petit Marché, Elmyriachi, The Argonaut, restaurants, bars, patios, and small businesses nearby.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire main home, including 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, the kitchen, living spaces, laundry area, wraparound porch, back deck, balcony, driveway, and backyard.

There is also a separate 1BR/1BA carriage house located above the garage on the property. It is completely separate from the main home and may be available to rent separately for larger groups or guests who want additional privacy. Please ask about availability if you need extra space.

Other things to note
This is a historic Queen Anne Victorian home with original character, vintage details, handmade furniture, owner-built cabinetry, custom art, and unique architectural features throughout. Guests should expect the charm and personality of an older historic home rather than a generic new build.

All TVs in the home are smart TVs, so guests can sign in to their preferred streaming services during their stay.

The PATH trail is right by the house, and Kirkwood Village is about a 10–12 minute walk away.

The separate carriage house is located on the property and may be occupied by other guests if not rented together with the main home.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Michael! I’m a proud University of Georgia grad (Go Dawgs!!!) and also studied Finance and Accounting at the University of Virginia. After school, I moved to Atlanta and worked in finance for several years before discovering my true passion: hosting.

I started back in 2015 by renting out a spare bedroom, which quickly grew into remodeling a basement and eventually helping friends and family design their own vacation homes. What began as a side project turned into Host This Home in 2018, where I now get to focus full-time on creating comfortable, memorable spaces for travelers.

I also serve as Treasurer for the Atlanta Metro Short-Term Rental Association, where I work with other hosts to keep Atlanta’s short-term rental community strong and welcoming.

When you stay with me, my goal is simple: to make you feel right at home while enjoying everything our city has to offer.

Why they chose this property

We picked historic Kirkwood for its unbeatable mix of authenticity, charm, and accessibility. With tree-lined streets, classic homes, and a tight-knit community vibe, it feels like stepping back in time — yet you’re just a short drive or ride away from Atlanta’s major hubs and cultural hotspots. It’s a neighborhood that offers both peace and personality.

What makes this property unique

This is no ordinary stay — it’s a Queen Anne Victorian full of character, complete with turrets, a wraparound porch, and cozy architectural details. With 4 bedrooms, it’s perfect for groups or families who want space and style. Its features — like the porch swings under big shade trees and period accents blended with modern comforts — make it a destination in itself.
