Jesse, we'd love to have you come back to Coleman's Cabin!  We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay.  The cabin is on East Lake in McMIllan, MI and has 3 sleeping quarters consisting of 2 bedrooms and a loft area.  It also has a washer and dryer for guests convenience.

Stacy, we are happy to know that you had a great time at Coleman's Cabin. Situated on East Lake, the cabin sleeps 4 and 1 small dog is allowed. The lake has a sandy bottom and there is swimming right fro the property. There is a fire pit and a duck boat for guests to enjoy. The views are gorgeous!

Hi Beth and Ken- I find your review very unsettling. With all due respect, this cottage is indeed on East Lake. It is NOT on Mud Lake, as you stated. Mud Lake is nearby, it is NORTH of MI-28, while the place you stayed at is SOUTH of MI-28. I'm disappointed that if "quiet cabin tucked in the woods with a serene lake view" was your priority, as your review stated, that you didn't call us to confirm you were online booking the best fit for your expectations. We have never advertised this cabin as "tucked into the woods with a serene lake view. " It is unfair to hold us to a standard that was in your mind, yet not our description. While this older cabin is generally quiet and not a busy place, with a comfortable distance between the cabins, it is NOT serene. We have waterfront cabins which are the epitome of serenity in Manistique, Gwinn, Republic, and Baraga. I sincerely apologize for the outdoor furniture not being as clean as the inside of the cabin. If you would have reached out to us via text, call or email, we would have immediately sent someone out to make sure the outside was cleaned to the same level as the inside. Plus, we would have personally brought over a bulb for your reading light, had we known it was not present. My apologies the cleaner missed the absent reading light bulb. Plus, I hear your concerns for what is considered clutter in some circles, to what the owner considers apropos cabin decorations. We have discussed this with him and have removed some of this trinkets. He thought it gave the cabin character. When you called to tell our office you had decided to leave a day early from your 2 night stay, Claire only heard you talk about going to visit your friends in the Keweenaw Peninsula/ Copper Harbor. Therefore, she was correct in following our basic policy. She did not receive this feedback about your disappointing experience. We are a small, family business, not a hotel chain. Still, if your public, review feedback had been given, we would have worked with you toward a solution. We aren't rigid. Over the last 14 years in business, we appreciate our guests and always work to find a solution, even when it's tough. Your satisfaction is our goal. We look to exceed your expectations, yet we can only do so if we start you off with a place which matches your desires.
