About this property

Privacy in the Green Mountains! Hike, bike, swim and enjoy VT all summer.

Peaceful and private retreat! Wind up a long driveway to our home, located 2 miles to the Stratton access Road, 20 minutes to Manchester and 15 to the Weston Playhouse and Vermont Country Store. Great for families or several couples and large parties but works for just a couple of folks as well. Our house sits in the midst of mature trees with pretty local views. Four Bedrooms are fully furnished and ready for a short or longer vacation. The open cherry kitchen, dining and living room enjoy a fieldstone fireplace and wood and tiled floors. There is a main suite bedroom (Queen bed) on the second floor with a fireplace, wood floors and a bath with oversized shower. Two additional bedrooms upstairs share a full bath, each of those rooms has two twin beds. On the main floor there is a queen bedroom with a full bath that is shared with the common rooms. A family/rec room on the lower level (with ping pong table and tv) makes a great retreat for kids to enjoy. This is an ideal seasonal rental for either the full ski season or the summer months. Great sliding hill in the yard, hiking trails nearby, Lowell Lake, Gale Meadows and the Stratton pond are all just a short drive for summer fun. In the winter you can be on the slopes in minutes, snowshoe or cross country ski on nearby trails. The kitchen is fully equipped, has all the silverware, dinnerware and cooking utensils needed. Winter guests traveling to Vermont should be prepared with 4WD or AWD that have good all season or snow tires.

The home was a wonderful spot to enjoy the fall foliage and go to the nearby sky ranges to enjoy the mountains. The host was wonderful and responded quickly to any questions we had. The hot tub was a plus. There were so many hiking spots nearby that we enjoyed with our dog.

A wonderful space to celebrate Thanksgiving with family - including a new, perfect, baby! Well appointed kitchen with tons of space for prepping, a cozy living room with a fireplace, and a hot tub for the teenagers (& new parents!) to enjoy. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Lovely house and area to spend family time

Seven of us enjoyed the facilities, the layout of the house and the tips from the host of ways to spend our time enjoying the area. Great for hiking, alpine adventure park, and fun at house with table-tennis and hot tub playing their part.

This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, inexpensive home with a hot tub. My family especially enjoyed the downstairs gameroom with ping pong table. The AC on the ground floor was a welcome surprise and the window fans upstairs were wonderful.

Wonderful home!

This is such a fun place to stay in the summer! Close to state parks, hiking, and swimming holes. Lee was super helpful and had great local recommendations (especially Honeypie!!). The home had plenty of space for my family of four to spread out and the basement has a ping pong table and is stocked with a ton of fun board games. The hot tub is so nice after a long hike! Thank you, Lee, we had such a wonderful time!

The home is in a very private location which we loved. Everything you need for your stay in the cabinets including spices. If you are bringing children of all ages the basement is a great place for play as stated in the property description. Actually everything described in property description was spot on and the host Lee was great at communication. The Jamaica area rural, hilly and scenic. Great get away!

Beautiful isolated home

We had a fabulous stay. The house was just as nice as described and Lee was a wonderful host. Would stay here again. The only reason I gave a 4 star to location is the entry to driveway is on a curve and can be somewhat precarious exiting. It appears that this is a common situation in the area, so just take caution.

Secluded

We had a very enjoyable stay. This home had plenty of room for 4 adults and was very comfortable! The amenities which included a hot tub, ping pong table, board games, indoor basketball hoop and large tv were fantastic to have on a few rainy nights. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The house is very secluded. However, you can hear traffic noise. The owners were very quick to respond. Would rent again!

lovely summer rental

We stayed here for 2 weeks and I could have stayed longer. It's a very livable house - plenty of room for a family of 4 to spread out in, a spacious master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, and fun amenities like the ping-pong table, hot tub, and large TVs. It's clean and very peaceful too. You can hear road noise from the house but other than that it's secluded. It's also just down the road from a favorite Vermont sandwich place and close to several great hikes. Would rent again! Thank you!

Wonderful, comfortable, secluded getaway

My family and I stayed in this wonderful, comfortable, secluded getaway! The homeowner was very gracious and attentive. She was so helpful in recommending (such delicious) restaurants too. Fabulous hiking area. We hiked at Jamaica State Park and at Hamilton Falls from the Dam entrance. It was so nice to go back to the house and relax, play ping pong and enjoy the great outdoors on the deck. A feel good, happy vacation! I would highly recommend!

It sets on 90 secluded acres in the mountains close to skiing and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Not far from Skiing, Manchester, the Dorset horse show, Weston Playhouse, Lowell Lake and more.
