About this property

Stone Haven "Tent Cabin" with a cast iron fire pit in Canterbury, NH.

Step into a forest dreamscape: two artfully crafted tiny homes face each other across a cozy, fire-lit hangout area. One houses your elevated sleeping loft—a warm, wooden nest suspended above the earth with a stunning glass floor, offering a magical window to the forest below. A massive sliding glass wall opens completely to let in the sounds, scents, and stillness of the surrounding woods. Wake to birdsong. Fall asleep beneath the stars.

The second tiny home provides the comforts of a full kitchen and private bathroom, all thoughtfully designed for your retreat. Cook a quiet breakfast as morning mist curls through the trees. Savor wine by the fire pit at dusk.

Just 100 feet from the parking area, Stone Haven feels worlds away. No traffic. No city lights. Just you, your partner, and the whisper of the forest.

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a proposal, or simply craving reconnection—Stone Haven Tent Cabin invites you to fall in love again, with each other and with the Earth.

Guests are encouraged to ask questions, explore forgotten ideas, and reconnect with their senses.

Upon reaching the Historic town of Canterbury, should you forget any items, the Canterbury Country Store is the perfect place to find a vast array of anything you need.

Parking is located directly behind the main house at the top of the mountain—look for the clearly marked “Cabin Parking” sign.

GPS will guide you to 188 Hackleboro Road, Canterbury, NH, where you'll see a sign on a tree reading “Tiny Earth Cabin.” Follow the 3,000 ft gravel road, which includes three switchbacks—make wide turns to avoid any trouble on the driveway.

Once parked, please call Chance so he can guide you to the cabin.

Pets are welcome.
We kindly ask that guests return waste to the little woodshed near the parking area.

Your host, Chance, is available day or night—just call or text him with any needs, questions, or curiosities during your stay. He’s usually on-site and happy to help with anything, from cabin guidance to local interesting venues, sights, and local Pubs.

A man of indeterminate age. Never married.
Highly skilled in a diverse array of crafts and trades!
As a Stone Architect, Chance designed and constructed the centerpiece in downtown Concord, NH, called Bi Centennial Square – a 100-ton stone structure that creates a mythical place for children to enjoy.
Chance previously was on Airbnb for 5 1/2 years hosting over 900 individuals from over 18 foreign countries.
The most prestigious one would have been the First Violin Chair from the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), requesting a whole month stay – alas, at that time, high-speed internet had not been in place as it is now.

Gifford H Miller is why Chance spent 48 years in Paleoclimatology in Arctic Canada and remain close friends still to this day. See article about the amazing Gifford:

Why they chose this property

The magical place of Canterbury, NH, was granted in 1727, named after the English Archbishop, and incorporated in 1741, initially serving as a fort and trading post for the Pennacook people. It evolved into a farming community and later became home to the Canterbury Shaker Village, founded in 1792, which remains a well-preserved example of the communal society's architecture and lifestyle. The town also has a rich agricultural history, noted for its small businesses, and is the location of the Boston Post Cane tradition.

What makes this property unique

This 60-acre property abuts 18,000 acres of Wilderness, culminating in the Northfield, NH bike park. Thus, it is easy to call Tiny Earth Cabin a Wilderness Cabin.
Sans any harmful animals or obstacles.
