Janie I am terribly sorry to read how much you disliked your stay at our home. My husband and I try to create the best stay possible for our guests so it is saddening to hear our was not up to your expectations. If you had reached out to me I would have gladly issued you a refund for your stay.

I am very sorry you were so disappointed in your stay. My husband Lynn and I have owned this property for almost 7 years and we have never received a review of this nature. This review is very unfair as we were never given the opportunity to rectify most of the issues stated because we were not told about them. I received a text message from Steve asking to give him a call after he checked in. As soon as I received the text message, I called him. To say the home was not clean upon check in is very untrue, there were some things left in the cupboards by previous tenants but to say that the home was left unclean because of a few items left in the cupboards does not render the home unclean. The only things mentioned on that phone call were the broken inside door knob, the garbage, the smoke detector and he mentioned the thc gummies and a few other things being left in the cabinet. I was very surprised to hear these things were left in the home and had no idea. I apologized profusely and told the tenant to throw anything away he did not want there. The door knob being broken on the inside of the front door did not render the door a safety issue as the deadbolt was still completely functional. No one could get into the home as there was still a functioning deadbolt to lock the door. However, the door knob has been completely replaced at this point. But to say there was a safety issue is an exaggeration and untrue as there was a completely functional deadbolt. The tenant never mentioned any of the other issues to me that are mentioned in his review on the phone and did not say he was upset about anything to me. I find this very upsetting and frustrating because I am always very responsive to my tenants and try to rectify any issues our tenants have. Had you told me you were upset I would have offered you a refund and tried to make things right as much as I could during your stay. I have many reviews of past tenants saying how responsive I am. The issues the tenant experienced have all been fixed. There has been a brand new washer and dryer installed in the home, the black mold in the bathroom has been properly cleaned and painted, there is a brand new coffee maker, the entire door knob has been completely replaced and there is a brand new smoke detector. We have a landscaper who comes in and cuts our grass and grooms the yard every week so I am not sure what the tenant is speaking of about our yard not being maintained or groomed, that is also a very untrue statement. We have our landscaper start in May to cut the grass and do a yard cleanup through the fall. The check in time is listed as 4pm on VRBO and on our rental/check in instructions. The grill was just used by our tenants last week and they never said anything about mouse droppings or it not being useable. I find this review to be very unfair as the tenant did not say anything to me about being upset about issues at the home and did not give me a chance to rectify any of the issues or an opportunity to give him a refund before he left me a scathing review. If you read previous reviews we have never received a review of this nature and all said issues have been rectified.
