Ocean View - Unique Mexican Contemporary Vacation home with Amenities!

Our modest vacation home is located in the beautiful exclusive beachfront community of Las Gaviotas, the Heart of the Baja Riviera...approximately 45 mins from the U.S. Border, south of San Diego. We have a 3 bedroom ~ 3 bath vacation family home. Maximum 6 person including children with NO EXCEPTIONS.
And, unfortunately, no pets allowed.

OCEAN VIEW:
Sunny weather breaking out into the Spring to Summer season. For 2021, Baja is giving us a mix of rain, cloudy with intermittent sunny, warm & pleasant weather. Some nights are a bit nippy, but we have a fireplace and every bedroom including bathrooms have a wall space heater.

Casa Franz is located in the middle of the complex, on the 3rd Tier below the Tennis courts, as road noise traffic from the free & toll road are virtually non-existent as compared to the 3 story condo units on the back tier of which previous guests have commented & experienced as a real source of annoyance. Casa Franz enjoys it's peace and quiet from the ocean's rhythmic waves with a green belt ocean view right in front giving our guests an extra added pleasure.

Don't miss out on the Winter season (Oct-Mar) as our rates are lower and the unique opportunity to enjoy the refreshing brisk cool weather as the winter solstice begins. Sunsets are especially fantastic in Reds and Orange hues. We have a fireplace with the use of the flame logs to create a nice cozy fireside mood complimented with our small built in wall space heaters in every room, just in case it gets too chilly.

What a great place !

We loved staying at Casa Franz! This home has lots of charm and everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect. Beds were comfortable and clean . We had a great stay here . They even left a bottle of champagne for my wife's birthday. Thanks again.

Safe beautiful getaway

Had the most lovely time at Casa Franz! The home itself was clean, comfortable and absolutely perfect. They had everything you could need- a grill, coffee maker, blender, and more. The beds were comfortable, the amenities great and the patio perfect for enjoying meals outside. The community itself is great with a pool, jacuzzi and beach all just a short walk from the house. Can’t wait to come back!

We have been coming to Las gaviotas for awhile now and we were so pleased on how well stocked the house was. We have never stayed at a home that provided us with so much. Loved that you even had a toothbrush emergency kit’! Everything we needed was provided. Thank you Arturo and Amy for a beautiful house. We loved the decorations and the view of the ocean was amazing! . Our trip was way too short and we will surely stay here again in the future.

Casa Franz

The property was very clean and organized. Using the Home Away app through VRBO was extremely helpful. My only disappointment was that, for a house that sleeps six, the kitchen was lacking. There is no oven and the inventory of pots, pans, utensils, etc. was very limited. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay in Casa Franz!

Bob...thank you for your response and your comments on the kitchen. I agree, we haven't looked at the kitchen in several years. And, we do not have a traditional oven. But the microwave does function as a convection oven, admittedly small. Many of our previous guests have commented that there is really no need for a full size oven and for that reason the kitchen design was set up for light cooking. We need to revisit the kitchen, as this has been one of the last areas of improvement. With that in mind, we will upgrade with new pots, pans and cooking utensils. Also, most of our guest comments are about having a better BBQ cooking area on the deck...we plan to install a gas fired BBQ grill, add stainless steel draws & cabinets for utensils & accessories... making this a important outdoor cooking area that supplements the kitchen, but functions easily for our guests in a clean and neat manner. We expect to do all these upgrades before the end of the 2015 year. Upon your revisit next year, a warm welcome is in store to your important suggestion and recommendations.

Independence Day in Mexico!

We arrived to Casa Franz and were very impressed with the cleanliness as well as the decor. Everything was very cute, clean, easy to find, and had plenty of room. We stayed for 3 nights during the 4th of July and had a blast! Don't forget to bring your own towels. Some other things to bring if you plan on staying for a few days or have a larger group ( we had a group of 6 adults) would be paper towels, paper plates to avoid dishes, more trash bags. The wifi was easy to access, and the blue tooth stereo system was super nice! we didn't watch any DVDS but everything was laid out clearly and ready to use. The patio had a couple lounge chairs, as well as a table where we at our meals. Super nice place, thank you for the hospitality.

Candace...Thank you for your comments and suggestions. We will be adding extra plastic trash bags at the bottom of the trash container to make it easier to find and very large trash bags for "large bulk trash" can be found stored in the laundry room. In the event, future guests do not bring towels, we will provide them as an emergency back-up.

Terrible communication

My friends and I booked Arturo’s place to celebrate my birthday. There were 6 of us so naturally we were taking more than 1 car. My friends got there before us & needed the code to get in. When I texted Arturo for it I got this incredibly rude & uncalled for text back: “NO! You are the primary guest & you are suppose to be the first to enter! No one else. You should have advise me upfront if this wasn’t you plan..” He did end up giving us the code, but it started the trip off on a bad note. The next day we couldn’t turn the shower off so my husband had to shut off the water valve to the house. Arturo couldn’t get a plumber out until the next day, which he did refund a night for, but not until we asked for it. He kept texting & calling & wanting us to be the middle man between him & his plumber, which we didn’t want to take time out of our vacation for, nor was it our responsibility. The place was nice & cute but it really put a damper on our weekend. Also the tennis courts are super close & woke us up every morning. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Comfy, cozy, and clean

Beautiful location. The home was clean and comfortable for our family of six. I think they had the nicest towels of any VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. The host was easy to communicate with and very gracious. Please note that the house doesn’t have an oven, but we were able to cook cinnamon rolls on the balcony bbq and they were delish! Great place!

I had two major careers, as a Sr. Healthcare Executive and now as a retired mortgage banker. I was one of the first homeowners to purchase and build our vacation home. For years, we used it as our get-away for school & vacation breaks with our children who are now grown up. It is a great family retreat and our home is located on the 3rd tier below the Tennis court and we are about 1 1/2 blocks Southeast on Pelicanos-Este from the beach area, for swimming, volleyball or just relaxing.

My wife, Amy & I have taken great pride in outfitting the interior with original art work from local artists in the area. As the viewer of our photos will note and reviews from our past guests, we have not overloaded our wall spaces with too much Art work. Each Art piece is uniquely selected in a placed on to itself so that the wall space around gives it more importance and meaning.
