Enjoy a hot tub soak under bright stars, a cozy fireplace in the evening, curious deer in the morning, and incredible wineries at your doorstep. Nestled among giant oak trees, the Oak Haven offers the welcome retreat of a private sanctuary.
Enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many local vineyards and see the deer, turkey and other birds that often emerge from the neighboring woods. When it rains, a gurgling stream borders the property flowing amid grey stones and golden leaves.
Featuring a spacious deck, grill, outdoor table with umbrella and ample seating, The Oak Haven is the perfect spot for drinking and dining in the sunshine or shade.
High, sloping, wooden ceilings, large windows, a dining table for six, hardwood floors, cozy couch, well appointed lighting and a pellet-burning fireplace create a relaxing experience with natural lighting and a quaint, rustic feel.
For indoor entertainment, high speed internet is readily available. Enjoy your preferred media on our portable 50 inch flat screen Apple TV and surround sound speaker bar.
For reading enthusiasts, there's a plush lounging chair with a foot rest by the fireplace. Local hiking, biking and winery guide books, cook books, board games and classic short stories are nearby.
Our kitchen offers large sun lit windows, an electric stove top, a new double oven, a large stainless steel fridge and appliances including a microwave, toaster, juicer, coffee grinder, tea kettle, coffee maker and french press. There is also plenty of dishware, cutlery, and other necessities for cooking like cutting boards, knife set, cheese graters, strainers, etc...
The master bedroom suite features a queen bed, bathroom, an open walk in closet, a treadmill, antique armoire, ceiling fan, AC window unit, base board heater, carpeted flooring and a sliding door out to the surrounding deck.
The cozy middle room offers a floor fan, closet, space heater, a comfy queen bed, and an antique table.
The front bedroom features a queen bed, antique armoire, carpeted flooring, AC window unit, fan, space heater and closet.
Both the master bath and the guest bath have been remodeled with beautiful tile floors and vanities, lights, sinks, and fixtures. The bathrooms also come with bathing gels, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers.
Guests have private access to the whole house and everything it has to offer. I only ask that you care for it as you would your own. Thank you!
3 Reasons Why I Fell In Love:
- The sound of morning song birds, ravens, and dappled sunlight filtering through oak trees while enjoying a hot cup of coffee out on the deck.
- The glorious blanket of shimmering stars that came to life while soaking in the hot tub after a long hike.
- Sipping a fine glass of pinot noir in our king sized rocking chair while basking in the waning light of an afternoon sun.

About the host
Hosted by Kelly Nelson
I'm from the Pensacola area of Florida but have greatly enjoyed living in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1999. I'm a musician and have been in touring bands for almost 20 years. I'm also an artist of mixed media. I have a great love of nature, fitness and holistic living.
Why they chose this property
As a nature lover and avid hiker, I was drawn to Glen Ellen for its numerous state parks and cycling opportunities. Awe inspiring natural surroundings took my breath away and had me coming back to the area time and time again. The near-by town of Sonoma was delightfully quaint with diverse restaurant options, artisan craft stores, and wine tasting opportunities.
When I decided to look for a vacation home, privacy was on the top of my priority list. I said, "yes" as soon as I walked into the house in 2013. The house was perfectly situated for privacy with sprawling woods on one side, a sloping hill behind us and a tall fence separating our property from a friendly neighbor.

What makes this property unique
The unique benefits offered at the house are numerous! They include dark and quiet nights, clear starry skies, a six person hot tub, abundant outdoor seating, amazing giant oak trees around the house, many near-by vineyard, numerous epic state parks, and a self igniting fire place.
