About this property
3BR Farmhouse Retreat
Country comfort with farm animals, trails & cozy spaces
Welcome to our beloved old farmhouse—full of heart, history, and perfectly imperfect charm. If you’re looking for spotless and sterile, this probably isn’t your place. But if you love cozy, lived-in spaces where you can truly relax and be yourself, you’ll feel right at home here.
Nestled on 32 peaceful acres in Carlton, just 20 minutes from Duluth, our 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath farmhouse is a warm, welcoming retreat for families and small groups. The home has character in all the best ways—creaky floors, little blemishes, and the kind of soul only an old farmhouse can offer. What it is is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared for your stay. You’ll find fresh, clean linens and blankets in every bedroom and bathroom, comfy places to gather, and plenty of room to unwind.
Sleep comes easy with a king bed, double bunk beds, and cozy living spaces designed for slowing down. Cook meals in the fully stocked kitchen, share stories around the dining table, or sip your morning coffee in the three-season sunroom with its relaxed seating and dining area.
Step outside to the fenced deck and fire up the Pit Boss smoker/grill for an easy outdoor meal. Bathrooms include a full shower/tub, bidet, and an extra half bath for convenience.
Out here, life moves a little slower. Wander our 32 acres of woods, trails, and rolling fields. Say hello to our friendly rabbits, goats, sheep, and chickens/ducks—and enjoy fresh farm eggs when the girls are laying. As the sun sets, gather around the campfire, breathe in the fresh country air, and watch the stars come out.
A quick, honest note about the homestead This is a working, lived-in farmstead. At times, the owners may be somewhere on the grounds tending animals, gardens, or property projects. Occasionally, we may also be staying in the separate lower level of the home during bookings. We always respect our guests’ privacy and give you plenty of space to enjoy your stay.
We also host a couple of small Hipcamp sites elsewhere on the property. Campers are typically tucked away in their own areas and do not share your living spaces, but you may see other friendly folks enjoying the land.
This is a come-as-you-are kind of place. Kick off your shoes, let the kids roam, and don’t sweat the small stuff. Whether you’re here to explore the North Shore area or simply recharge your spirit, our farmhouse offers a laid-back blend of comfort, character, and country calm.
