About this property
Franklin-Mountain Retreat-Stunning View. Outdoor hot tub, clawfoot tubs & shower
Cozy and tastefully decorated mountain home, just a two hour drive from Atlanta.
This cabin is just minutes from hiking on the Appalachian and Bartram trails, with breathtaking southern views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC and GA.
This cabin features livable porches, a huge rear deck, two claw foot tubs for out door soaking, a hot tub that fits 4 adults and an outdoor shower. HOT TUB, CLAW FOOT TUBS AND OUTDOOR SHOWER ARE NOT AVAILABLE DURING WINTER MONTHS (FROM 11/1 TO 3/15). Nearby activities include hiking, antiquing, waterfalls, golf, paddling, swimming (in the new Macon County water park); dining, and entertainment at the Smokey Mountain Center for Performing Arts. For short day excursions visit Highlands, Dillsboro , Sylva, and Cashiers. The Great Smokey Mountain National Park is only 45 minutes away. Two new breweries in Franklin are so convenient after a hike, paddle or antiquing. Lazy Hiker and Currahee Brewing Company are both great choices. We suggest you try both!!!
The master bedroom features a king bed, and a child's day bed, with French doors that open to a screened in porch and view. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third loft bedroom, a full size bed.
There is a beautiful wood burning fire place in the family room, fully equipped kitchen, and large farm table in the dining room. The deck off of the living room has a dining table with 4 chairs (nice for enjoying the view).

About the host
Hosted by Brenda Guglielmina

Our family purchased this property in 2008 for weekend escapes into nature and out of the city heat. We love to to entertain family and friends in our cabin, and continue to explore the area. Every season has its own special beauty and character and we take advantage of the region year round.
Why they chose this property
This property exemplifies the unique and rich biological diversity of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Just east of the cabin in a hollow is a pure stand of yellow poplar trees, thus the name 'Poplar Cove'. A path to the west of the cabin wanders through a rhododendron to more surprise views. Early morning brings turkeys, grazing deer, and song birds. Its naturalist's delight!
What makes this property unique
Proximity to Atlanta, quiet, and much cooler temps. The elevation (3200 feet), combined with the shade and cooling effect of tree leaves, results in an average 12 degree decrease in daytime temperatures.Four person Hot Tub with view of the mountains! All the outdoor living spaces - its almost like camping with all the comforts of home.Closeness to an abundance of hiking trails.
