Rough River Lake - 5BR Waterfront Home - Sleeps 15 - Firepit
Bring your whole crew to Rough River Lake. This brand-new 5-bedroom lakefront home sits right on the water in a quiet, single-entrance neighborhood on George's Branch — the lake's water ski course. Watch the sunset from the covered deck while your group spreads out across three levels of living space, then head down to the water in the morning.
Built for large families and friend groups, the house sleeps 15 comfortably with luxury mattresses in every room. Cook together in the open kitchen, gather around the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, or take dinner outside to the 12-person covered dining table overlooking the lake. When the kids take over upstairs, the adults can retreat to the finished basement — complete with a wet bar, ice machine, game tables, and a patio with a daybed swing on the water.
On the water: water toys and direct access to some of the best water skiing on Rough River. On shore: firepit for evening s'mores, double-decker porches, and a neighborhood so quiet you'll hear the loons.
MAIN LEVEL Open-concept great room with a gorgeous kitchen (Thor appliances, large island with seating), dining area with table for 8, and a living room anchored by a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with two custom couches. The master en suite has a king bed, custom tile shower, and private deck access. Step outside to the covered deck with a 12-person dining table, matching sectionals, and unobstructed sunset views over the lake.
UPPER LEVEL A queen bedroom with lake views and a cozy double-full bedroom share a full bathroom. Perfect for kids or a second couple.
LOWER LEVEL The real bonus — a full entertainment floor with a king bedroom, a bedroom with two fulls and a twin trundle, an oversized dual-head tile shower, a wet bar with ice machine, game tables, and two sets of French doors opening to a lakeside patio with a daybed swing and Adirondack chairs.
Every bedroom has its own ductless AC unit — everyone controls their own temperature. Luxury linens and mattresses throughout. Multiple Roku TVs for rainy-day entertainment.
ON THE WATER The lake level varies seasonally. The Corps of Engineers maintains summer pool from Memorial Day through October 15, which is peak season for swimming, skiing, and boating. The water level is lower in winter and early spring.

Beautiful home with two large decks overlooking the lake. Accommodated 12 very comfortably. The only two negatives had nothing to do with the house, host or rental/check-in. The road back to the house is in complete disrepair, and there was limited parking.
The property is very family friendly. Love the lower level with what I would call the great room, complete with a wet bar, large screen TV; together with two bedrooms and one bath, this is a self-contained and spacious living unit with all the room and privacy for a young family and caters to both adults and children. The main level deck is a wonderful gathering place for the grown-ups in the mornings and evenings, so is the lower-level verandah with the swinging bed and the oversized metal wind chime. The sound of the wind chime created such serenity and whimsy, I could imagine myself being transported to the grounds of a monastery! All 15 of us could sit around the long table occupying the center of the deck but there is also room to spread out for private reading or conversations on the sectional couches at the two ends of the deck. We appreciated these outdoor spaces. The main living room is airy and brightly lit with natural light and comfortably furnished. Cooking was efficiently done in the large well stocked kitchen. Only one addition is desired: we are a family of picky coffee drinkers; a coffee bean grinder and even an old-fashioned coffee maker would have made the amenities complete! We did not access the lake from the property, the last 10 feet of decent was too steep and rugged for younger kids. There is a campground only 20 minutes away with a boat ramp. We had the water fun we had come to a lake house for!
We had a 40th birthday family get together, 16 of us from ages 12-63. We had plenty of room, to the point we had to holler or go searching when looking for someone. :) Double decks gave everybody room to spread out. The home is exactly as pictured, very clean, wonderful decor, and the host was fantastic! Would definitely book this fantastic house again! Many thanks Greg and Family for hosting our group!
