Perfect location. Perfect accommodations. Very clean and well stocked with everything you need.
We stayed in this 3 bed, 2 1/2 bath condo for a week for spring break with our 11yr old twins and my in-laws. Everybody had their own space, it was great! The kitchen is nice and large and the condo felt very clean. The property manager was very friendly and we would consider it again. Nice furnishings, comfortable beds, location was good too. We went on a few excursions at Robbies, which was 5 min up the road (snorkeling, feeding tarpons, kayaking thru mangroves). And took a fishing charter out of Bud & Mary's Marina, which was 15 min up the road.
Great place to stay and visit in the Florida Keys. The Property is always well maintained and management is always ready to help if you need something! Condo is very clean and well supplied with furnishing's. Easy access to boat dock!
Clean, Comfortable and roomy
The condo was perfect for our family vacation. Love the location, security and amenities of the complex. The condo was clean, beds were comfortable, adequate kitchen supplies, and beautifully decorated.
This condo is absolutely perfect. We had family coming and going all week, my brother and his son, another brother and his wife, and our son and his girl friend. They all came at different times but it was the perfect family week all around. We had my son's whaler which was perfect at the dock right outside. We jumped on and off that at a whim all week.
We loved sitting on the porch watching the activity at the lobster trap place. Fascinating. I can only imagine how it will be jumping in lobster season. We cooked a lot, ate out a lot and really enjoyed the Islamorada restaurants.
We caught some snapper from our whaler and then got a deep-sea charter out of whale Harbor and caught 14 big dolphin. That was great.
We had wonderful weather, couldn't have been nicer.
The place was so beautiful, and the owners really have a gorgeous knack for decorating. Everything was comfortable, from the pillows to the couches. And so very clean!I don't know who does your housecleaning but they are very thorough and very good.
For my husband and myself Islamorada is heaven on earth. His parents used to have a home there, way back when we were dating, so we both have wonderful memories of Islamorada and the Keys.
Great Condo -- With a Big Problem
Our review would be higher if it were not for one glaring and serious problem with the property -- noise. I'll get to that in a minute. I'd prefer to start with the good stuff.
It's a beautiful property -- the unit is clean, well-decorated, a great floor plan, comfortable furniture, easy parking, ergonomic and well-equipped kitchen, and easy access to the main road. The pool area is nice, grills in common areas are of high quality and work great. The deck area is spacious and the deck furnishings are newer and comfortable.
There is a problem. This particular unit sits facing a canal and on the other side of the canal are commercial lobster fishing operations. The week that we stayed in the property (including the weekends) was filled with the sounds of hammering, air-powered nail guns, power saws, and radio noise from the commercial operation right across the canal. The men working at the fishery started about 8:30AM and worked until 6PM. They were repairing lobster traps (thousands of them), and that is hard, noisy work to do. As a result, we could not spend time on the deck or keep the deck slider open -- it was just too loud. It was like taking your vacation at a building site.
Even when you're not listening to that sound, you're going to hear the highway. There are distant ocean views, which are nice, but the view is over the main highway and the sounds of cars and trucks are loud and constant. I actually got sort of used to that ... but could not get used to the sounds of the lobster fishery work.
A big part of why I vacation is to get away from work and noise and so this was a major disappointment for me. I wanted to open up the condo to the breezes and enjoy quiet and that was completely impossible.
I don't think that lobster trap repair operations are a year-around matter ... there are probably seasons or weeks or months where this noise will not be such a problem ... perhaps the thing to do is to ask the owner about it, if you're considering renting. I'm quite certain the owners know all about this issue and when it is a problem.
Again, it's a shame about this, because in all other respects the property is really great.
Swim with the dolphins, walk on beach, best fishing! Snorkeling, diving, kayaking, bicycling, relaxing, meditating, exercising and so much more!
