Homestead Hollow is a rustic cabin built in 1929 that is set on 40 secluded acres surrounded by juniper trees and ponderosa pines. The cabin offers sweeping views of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks, including Mt. Antero, Mt. Princeton, and Mt. Yale. The open-concept studio features a large new deck and a spacious driveway for ATVs. Conveniently located between Buena Vista and Salida, it’s close to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, St. Elmo Ghost Town, and the Colorado Trail. True to its vintage charm, the cabin has no TV or air conditioning, though a fan is provided for comfort—making it an ideal retreat for adventure seekers and nature lovers.

This cabin was the best you could possibly hope for if you want a quiet getaway in the mountains. Reasonably close to town but still secluded and quiet. The view of the mountains from the porch is absolutely stunning. The mountains are so close it’s amazing! The cabin itself was super clean and had just the right amount of modern amenities - heat, lighting, hot water, washer/dryer - to be comfortable, while retaining the rustic feel. The host was super responsive and friendly. And not to mention price! I’ve stayed in a couple cabins in Colorado and this is an absolute steal! Seriously, if you’re debating between a few properties, you can stop now and thank me later.
