My name is Morten Wulff, and I’ve been professionally engaged with Latin and Latin American culture for as long as I can remember. This passion isn’t just academic—it’s my way of life.
I’m married to Professor Berit Heitmann, and together we have three grown children. Over the past 20 years, Berit and I have been on an incredible journey in Albuñol, transforming House of the Blue Ray into a sanctuary where history, culture, and modern comforts intertwine.
Our deep connection to this region—and this house—isn’t just about the stunning views or the Moorish architecture (though those are pretty spectacular!). It’s about sharing a piece of Andalusia’s soul with travelers who appreciate the magic of this land as much as we do.
When you stay here, you’re not just renting a house—you’re stepping into a story we’ve poured our hearts into. And we can’t wait to welcome you to it.

Why they chose this property
When my wife and I first stumbled upon this 500-year-old house nestled in the cliffs of Albuñol, facing the Municipality Square, we knew it was special.
The thick walls, the arched doorways, and the whispers of Moorish history in every corner spoke to me like a novel by the Granadian poet Federico García Lorca. But it wasn’t just the architecture—it was the view: the Mediterranean meeting the rugged stone of Sierra Nevada, and the terraces surrounding the house. This wasn’t just a house; it was a piece of Andalusia’s soul, what you call a Carmen Granadino.

What makes this property unique
Over years of careful restoration, we’ve preserved the home’s original charm—from the hand-painted tiles, so-called azulejos, to the cave room carved into the rock, the patios, and the sprinkling pool—while adding modern comforts to make it a sanctuary for travelers. The name, House of the Blue Ray, comes from the ethereal light that fills the spaces at dawn, a reminder of the poetic and spiritual history of this land.
This house has been a dream project, a place where our love for Andalusian culture, architecture, and storytelling comes together. Whether you’re drawn by the romance, the tranquility, or the magic, our hope is that you’ll feel the same sense of wonder we do every time we walk through its doors.
We can’t wait to share it with you.
