About this property
Charming, cozy cottage on the northern end of Lake Lanier, perfect for quiet escapes, relaxation, and time to embrace nature while reflecting away from the bustle of the city.
A 5-acre paradise on the northern tranquil shores of Lake Lanier, this charming cottage is a true sanctuary for the soul. Cozy inside and spacious outdoors, it offers a fire pit with Adirondack chairs overlooking a private cove, and soft lighting on the porch and deck. Wildlife is abundant, from deer and wild turkeys to countless birds, creating a front row seat to nature’s theater. Perfect for couples seeking rest or small families making memories.

Access to the cottage is along a county-owned gravel road that is maintained by us and our neighbors. You will then turn onto our private gravel drive leading to the cottage, located on the back portion of the 5-acre property. Please drive slowly and keep speeds at 15 mph or less to protect the road and driveway surfaces.
Although you may never see them, we do have neighbors through the woods. Please respect their privacy by not venturing onto neighboring land and keeping noise levels reasonable. The Corps of Engineers’ shoreline property is public, so you are welcome to explore along the water’s edge as far as you’d like.
For recommendations on restaurants, hiking and mountain biking trails, wineries, nearby towns, and other activities, please see our guidebook and house manual.
Guests have private access to the entire cabin and the surrounding 5 acres. The Corps of Engineers property along the lakeshore is public land and may also be freely explored.
The original structure was a 12 x 24-foot cabin built in 1985 by a scoutmaster who brought his scouts here to camp. It had no water or power, only a quaint outhouse. In 2022, we added a living room and converted the original cabin into a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, complete with power, water, and heat/AC.
You enter the cottage into the living area, which features plenty of windows to enjoy your views and a door to the back deck and yard. A smart TV is mounted on a pull-down bracket (extends about 27 inches; please watch your head). A dining table can be utilized as a workspace if necessary. We are proud to share with you our high-speed fiber optic internet. Several games and puzzles are provided for your enjoyment stored in the coffee table.
The kitchen is small but well stocked, with a midsize range, midsize fridge, and microwave. There is no dishwasher or ice maker, but ice trays are provided. The bathroom features a step-in shower.
The bedroom has a queen bed, a front double window, and sliding doors leading to the back deck and yard.

There is parking for two cars in front of the cottage. The driveway is gravel, long and private.
There is a path from the gravel drive to the lake beginning near the old outhouse. Guests may walk their own kayak, canoe, or small boat down the path. Please note, there is no dock on the property. A public boat ramp is available less than a mile away at Lula Park.
The Army Corps of Engineers controls lake water levels. During low water, the public boat ramp may be difficult to use, so we recommend checking levels if this is important to your plans.
