Located on the koala trail and less than 100 metres from the water & boat ramp, Kalara is the perfect house to relax & unwind. Catch the vehicular ferry from Paynesville to Raymond Island and you will immediately feel relaxed. The house offers 3 bedrooms: 2 x Queen rooms & 3rd bedroom with 2 sets of bunks. The living & kitchen area is open plan & the lounge / dining area is on a split level above.
This is the perfect retreat for a couple, a group or a family. Great entertaining deck with BBQ & good sized backyard. Guests can feed the birds & enjoy kangaroos & koalas in the surrounds. This property is clean, comfortable & has a lovely bright and airy feel about it. Everything you need to enjoy your Gippsland Lakes holiday is at Kalara. Pet friendly with a great sized yard. Dogs must be on leash at all times outside the yard as Raymond Island is a sensitive environment

Island getaway

On arrival there were two koalas in the backyard trees. We enjoyed wandering the boardwalk a few metres away and the surrounding area - plenty of nature to appreciate. The house is well appointed and very comfortable, with everything you'll need for preparing meals. I would highly recommend a stay here to refresh the mind and lift the spirits.

A great place to stay

Super comfortable property, really well kept and clean. Great location and very welcoming to bring my dog too. So cute to wake up in the mornings to have a koala housing in one of the backyard trees. The hosts were very welcoming and great communication. Would definitely come back again.

Myself and my family had a lovely 10 day stay over the Xmas and new year period. The location was a short stroll to the ferry and the shops of Paynesville but tucked away enough so it’s quiet and relaxing. We were lucky enough to find koalas and echidnas in the garden. That was a treat! The management are really lovely and accomodating too. The recipe is all there for a perfect family stay!

What a spectacular setting and location. I just felt the hygiene needed more attention example blankets in cupboards had stains, walls and ornaments were dirty, fans in bathroom did not work and safety things like outdoor brick barbecue the wall was unstable.we chose to dine on dining table after making pumpkin soup, when we tidied table we noticed there was marks from hot bowls left. We instantly got cool dishcloth but mark was left, so sorry maybe there should be placemats for visitors? But overall loved the stay and we would love to return next year,

Raymond Island Short Stay

We enjoyed a family stay on Raymond Island. The house was very clean, well equipped and not too ‘precious’ that you couldn’t relax and enjoy your surroundings. The fireplace only adds to the pleasure on a chilly night. The verandah is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee whilst being entertained by the birds. A great place to stay for all members of the family.
