The Space:

Slip into vacation mode at this classic, two-story beach house located just a couple hundred feet from the sand! Sea Gate offers two stories of comfort in a charming, beachside community. Inside, you'll find hardwood floors, high ceilings, and rustic touches throughout along with a well-equipped, eat-in kitchen, a dining area with a large table, counter seating, and amazing views, and a cozy living area with a gas fireplace and a flatscreen TV for streaming your favorite shows and movies. Outside, fire up the gas grill and gather around the picnic table for the perfect summertime cookout, or just kick back and watch the water from the wraparound deck. This home also includes four cozy bedrooms (two on each floor) including one easily accessed main-level room with en suite bath.

NIce stay in Westport

We enjoyed our stay for a family event. So nice to walk across the street to the beach access. Nice fireplace and dining room overlooking the ocean. It is certainly not a 5 star but reasonably priced, clean and well appointed.

Great getaway

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean and offered many items. Everything from booking to checkout was very easy. Thank you for a wonderful house and a wonderful stay.

Quiet and Picturesque Home By the Ocean

We had a lovely time staying at Sea Gate in Westport. The house was perfectly appointed, warm and cozy, bright and friendly. We loved sitting on the deck looking out over the Pacific Ocean as it roiled and splashed over the rocks. And we were lucky to have perfect weather all week. We hope to return again in the future.

The View

I was surprised by the bedroom situation—2 bedrooms upstairs and they had come downstairs to use the bathroom! I think the view was spectacular! We might rent this house again!

Great location, ocean views

This house had plenty of space. Note: two upstairs bedrooms are up a narrow staircase and there is no bathroom up there. The bathrooms are downstairs- one off the primary bedroom and one off the laundry room nook. Very comfortable place, gas fireplace, cozy furniture. Near Switzer farm which is where we were going for a wedding so location wise it was perfect (walking distance).

The Pacific Ocean is right across the road. There's minimal light pollution at night, so the Milky Way is bright and lovely overhead. A large outside deck is perfect for watching the sky and listening to the waves. The inside of the house is colorful and a nice place to relax. There are a lot of Places to sit, fairly large kitchen with refrigerator and freezer, arrange for cooking, and a microwave oven. Also, a lot of cupboards and drawers full of cooking equipment, cups, plates and silverware. Zero complaints from us. It's in a very small town, so if you want groceries you're going to travel half an hour each direction to and from Fort Bragg. There is a tiny but pleasant community store just up the block.

House is not as shown in the pictures!

The location of this house is very nice but the pictures inside have benefited greatly from photoshop enhancements. The house and furnishings are a bit dated no where near as 'colorful' as the listing suggests. Note that this is NOT a VRBO house but a VACASA house subject to different cancellation rules (48 hrs). VACASA was very impersonal and managed by a central switchboard by someone who had NO idea of the house or the layout. Switchboard could not even tell us how to turn on the heat so they had to send someone from Fort Bragg the next day. No check in information was available until 24hrs pre (and this in an area with no cell phone coverage). Checkout asked that we load and run the dishwasher....but there wasn't one. The two rooms upstairs were OK but MUCH too far from the nearest bathroom (down steep stairs and all the way to the back of the house) to be useful to any but the very youngest. Personally I would not come back with a large group.
