About this property
Deluxe 2BDR Suite | French Quarter | The Harlequin
Some buildings just have a story — this one had a starring role. On iconic Canal Street, The Harlequin was once home to New Orleans' very first movie theater, and that cinematic spirit still runs through the place today: a collection of design-forward apartments where original character meets modern comfort.
The address does a lot of the work. A perfect 100/100 walkability score puts nearly everything New Orleans is known for within a few blocks — the French Quarter around the corner, Bourbon Street's buzz close behind, and Jackson Square, the Saenger Theatre, and the St. Charles Streetcar line all an easy stroll away. Wander over for morning beignets at Café du Monde, browse the historic French Market, or drift toward the riverfront and let the live jazz find you.
The Deluxe Two-Bedroom Suite is a calm counterpoint to the city's happy chaos. Two private bedrooms comfortably sleep four, making it an easy fit for families or a few traveling companions. Newly refreshed interiors bring curated art, thoughtful design, and a comfortable living area anchored by a smart TV, while expansive windows frame the glow of Canal Street below. The fully equipped kitchen makes a slow morning or a casual dinner in feel effortless, and hearing-accessible options help make every guest feel genuinely at home.
Come for a show at the Saenger, the world-famous food, or a night out in the city's legendary music scene. The Harlequin keeps all of it within reach, then gives you a stylish, well-appointed place to land at the end of the day.

Canal Street is one of New Orleans’ most storied and dynamic thoroughfares, a place where the city’s past and present come together in full color. Once known as the “neutral ground” dividing the French and American sectors, today it’s the heartbeat of downtown, connecting the French Quarter to the Central Business District and beyond. Lined with grand architecture, historic theaters, and the famous streetcar line, Canal Street offers effortless access to everything that makes New Orleans extraordinary. From here, you can wander to jazz clubs on Frenchmen Street, shop along Magazine Street, or catch a performance at the Saenger Theatre. And when it’s time to slow down, the Mississippi Riverfront and leafy squares provide the perfect contrast to the city’s lively rhythm. Whether you’re here for the music, the food, the festivals, or the unmistakable spirit that fills the air, Canal Street places you at the center of it all.

Property was clean and easy to access. Love that they provided white noise machines for the bedrooms. Communications with host were easy. Only issue was the lock on door to our unit seemed to have a bit of a problem, took two tries to open the door every time.
This location is a bit hidden, but perfectly worth it very close to French quarter, and surrounded by shops and attractions, and to mention safe. Contactless yet helpful, provided with help if we ever needed, will book again in the future.
Really enjoyed staring at Avant Stay. When we got in, the air conditioning had issues, leading to the apartment being very hot. I contacted the host, and got a very quick response. A maintenance person was there fixing the issue in no time. I really appreciate the quick communication and rapid resolution of my issue. Check in was smooth, the apartment was really clean, and it was spacious. It can get loud at night since it’s off Canal St, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. But that’s true if you’re staying anywhere near the French Quarter. Highly recommend!
This place was amazing and in the perfect location! So very clean and a convenience store was located right outside the entrance which was also nice. We were able to walk every where. Check in and check out was easy. Comfortable stay. Bonus was the view to canal street! My next visit back to NOLA I will be booking this again. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay. Was very clean and not noise. The only thing it’s great they allow animals but no where really to walk them close. But otherwise vey satisfied would stay again just not with our dog with us

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication
When I was looking at places the apartment was located at bienville but the apartment is not there. The apartment is several blocks away. The master bedroom is extremely hot. The AC doesn't do a good job.Host never answered me. They offered a discounted additional night but never answered back. The check in instructions are not clear. I had to get help from the cleaning crew to open the doorThere were clothes in the dryer, so I was not able to use it.Location is great. Super clean and modern
Clean, great amenities, perfect location. Had a little trouble with the door lock, but nothing substantial. A tad noisy from street traffic/French Quarter, but we were provided ear plugs and masks which was lovely.
The place was clean. I liked the location being on the edge of the French Quarter. It made for a pleasant walk back each evening. It wasn't the same apartment as in the photo, and that could well have been me missing that explanation on the listing. However, the place being only slightly different didn't make a difference to me. And the opportunity to easily extend my check out time was really useful.
For some reason the final email I received from AvantStay, with check-in instructions, contained incorrect door entry codes. Apparently it was at some point corrected in my online account, but I didn't check, which prompted a frantic after hours phone call to them. Fortunately they did pick up and supplied the correct codes, but what the heck, how can they mess up something that important? Other than that, the unit was very nice, I had no complaints. It is very convenient to the streetcar, French Quarter and the riverfront. FYI the bedrooms are small, with no dressers. If you have a bedroom with windows, it can be noisy on weekends. The wifi seemed a little spotty.
