Great Stay

My Family had a great time at this home. There is a nice large yard, easy access to kayak, plenty of room in the house for my 6 adult children and 8 grandchildren. Short distance to the Lake, Elk viewing and swimming. This is definitely a place we will stay in the future.

Very cool location

The house is huge and a maze and we all enjoyed it. Pretty much in a dead zone for cell service but the wifi kind of helped. We all enjoyed our stay. Do recommend!

Family vaca

We had a wonderful time. House was beautiful and clean. Location of the river was perfect. Kayaking,tubing,fishing etc. We enjoyed meals and family time on the porch and around the fire pit every evening. Host was so pleasant and accommodating when needed. Definitely will return.

Lots of family fun!

Our extended family group had a terrific time at the Cozy Wilcox River Lodge property. We had lots of room and the house was great for all of us. We had tons of fun in the river, also. With ages ranging from 3 to 87, we all were able to relax and have a very nice stay on the beautiful property. We also were able to set up a badminton court and the little ones really enjoyed that too. Thank you!

pricy for the area but worth it

If you have a large group and want to be able to all stay under one roof but have your own space this is definitely the property for you! The lodge itself is great and the outside area (especially this time of year) is absolutely beautiful. My only regret is that we didn't have a longer time or better weather to enjoy all the outdoor space (porch, deck, fire pit, walking trails, sit by the river etc.). I've already had two from my group ask about setting up a time to go back again and really get to enjoy everything the property has to offer.

Daughters wedding in elk county

FANTASTIC! We rented the house for our daughters wedding in elk county. Reception was at the Dam Inn (AMAZING TOO). This rental house was so perfect for our family. We had a full house and such a great weekend we will never forget! Tons of memories we will carry with us for the rest of our lives! Amazing scenery! We want to go back someday! Highly recommend!

Peacefulness of river sounds

This house has some good features: large kitchen, numerous gathering areas, loads of sleeping space, comfortable beds, proximity to river. There are lovely needlepoint chair cushions in the dining room. However,, the house needs some care. The pictures are somewhat misleading;for instance, the house sits right on the road and the gradual slope to the river is on the other side of the road.

Family stay prior to wedding

Trouble with lockbox was my own doing. Internet not strong, however, in rural area like this no one has strong internet. Should look in Star Link. A great time was had by all.

A wonderful location with a unique, storied home. The location is right on Clarion river making it easy to dip in the cold rushing water. A favourite activity was driving five minutes to the damn outflow, and then tubing down the river back home. The area has lots of great places to explore and Bendigo State Park has a free community pool in the summer. St. Mary's has all the amenities you might need. The seclusion makes it easy to digitally disconnect, while the wifi helps for research and that quick work check-in. The home is big, with lots of space. The Hyde Murphy room is a wonderful hangout spot for all, for reading, games, or socializing. While some furniture is dated, it adds to the historic mystique of the home. Highly recommend!

Pictures are old

It is a big place but it is not laid out well and outdated. The pictures do not show the current condition. It wasn’t dirty but worn. The outside decks are rough shape with nails and wood sticking up. You can’t walk out without shoes on. Very little decent outside furniture, bring you own chairs. There is a moderately trafficked road within a few yards of the house. Overall would not recommend for the price.

We followed up with the homeowner, who would like to share the following:- The pressure-treated deck has been maintained over the years but is now showing signs of wear. It's scheduled for replacement in the next couple of weeks—we’re just waiting on contractor availability.- We're transitioning to Trex composite decking, which should offer a more durable and low-maintenance solution moving forward.- Had we known you were cooking extensively on the deck, we would’ve been happy to install veneer oak plywood to improve the surface during your stay.We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We have stayed at this location the past 6 years. Overall, the place is fine. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed based on the money you charge for this house. #1, the internet solution you have currently is horrible. We all get a good signal from the router so the issue isn't the router. The issue is whatever is coming to the router from outside to provide the internet. Everyone of us 10 residents had issues each and every day. Service was always buffering and would come and go. if you are going to charge what you do, you need to have something reliable for internet. it is 2026 afterall. #2, the sink faucet wobbles all around...something needs to be fixed and/or replaced. #3, the pans you have for cooking need upgraded big time. I'm guessing this stuff has been here a long time. #4, it would be nice if the grass could be cut prior to our arrival. We appreciate your addressing these matters :) Thanks

Family reunion

Great stay. We enjoyed the yard, firepit, the river and trails. The house is divided into three separate 'wings' which allowed some separation. Kitchen was large as that is always a meeting place.

Family Reunion

This place was perfect. Huge house with everything you need for either a short or long stay. Hiking and fishing just outside the door, the sound of the East Baranch gurgling over the rocks while sitting on the front porch washed away any worries of the day. We will be back again for sure. Thank you for renting exactly what is advertised!
