Located at the end of a quiet dead-end street, Tilty House offers the best of both worlds. Open fields surround the property, deer frequently wander through the yard, and jackrabbits can often be seen running through the fields. Even though you’re still in town, it often feels like you’ve escaped to the country. We hope you’ll enjoy the quiet surroundings as much as we do and that this home becomes a peaceful place for you to relax after a day of exploring.
As you might have guessed from the name, Tilty House has a noticeable tilt, especially as you walk toward the kitchen. Like any home with a little age, it has its quirks, but we’ve truly come to love every bit of its tiltiness, so we couldn’t resist leaning into it and calling it Tilty House.
This home has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and all the character that comes with being nearly 100 years old. We thoroughly clean between every stay, but dust is simply part of living on a dirt road. As a pet-friendly home, you may also occasionally come across a stray pet hair despite our best efforts. If you can appreciate the little quirks that come with an older home, we think you’ll love the peaceful setting, beautiful views, and feel right at home here.
The space
When you pull in, you’ll immediately notice the open fields, rolling hills, and native brush that surround the house. The peaceful setting is perfect for a morning walk, watching wildlife, riding bikes, or simply enjoying the view.
Step inside and you’ll find a warm, comfortable space with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a cozy living room featuring a gas fireplace, Xbox with Game Pass, and a variety of board games for everyone to enjoy.
The primary bedroom is simple, comfortable, and designed with rest in mind. It features a queen bed, a TV, a dresser, and a large mirror, making it an inviting place to settle in after a day of adventure.
The second bedroom combines a comfortable sleeping space with plenty of fun, featuring a full-over-twin trundle bed and three arcade machines. One of the arcade machines includes nearly 1,000 classic games, so there’s something for just about everyone. The twin mattress is stored on the pull-out trundle beneath the full bed, making it easy to sleep an extra guest when needed.
Both bedrooms, along with the living room and kitchen, have heating and air conditioning to help keep everyone comfortable year-round.
Outside you’ll find a fenced backyard that’s suitable for most medium and large dogs, while the front of the property features a gas fire pit, a barbecue, and beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
Even though the property feels tucked away, you’re still within walking distance of the movie theater and several restaurants along Campus Drive. Downtown Klamath Falls is only a few minutes away and offers local coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and seasonal events. Oregon Tech is also nearby, making this a great place to stay for visiting family, students, or anyone exploring the area.
Whether you’re visiting Crater Lake National Park, spending time on Upper Klamath Lake, or simply looking for a quiet place to unwind, we hope Tilty House feels like home during your stay.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and property except for the supply closet in the second bedroom, the locked basement, and the small building behind the house. We hope to turn the small building into a play area someday, but it still needs a little work.
Important things to know
The neighborhood
This is an older neighborhood, and some homes definitely show their age. Our neighbor next door has lived here for many years, and her yard reflects that. If you happen to meet her, she’s always happy to strike up a conversation about just about anything.
We simply ask that guests be respectful of our neighbors, clean up after themselves, and help keep the neighborhood peaceful. Tilty House is a great place to relax, so we ask that parties and excessive noise be avoided.
The house
The floors aren’t perfectly level, and you’ll notice a gentle tilt in parts of the house, especially in the kitchen. It’s part of what makes Tilty House unique.
We’ve put a lot of time, work, and love into this home, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Whether you’re here just passing through, visiting family, or simply looking for a little rest, we hope you’ll choose to make Tilty House part of your life adventure.
