About this property
Private Ranch Retreat with Panoramic Views of the Wichita Mountains
Escape to Haley Ranch, a secluded, rustic retreat at the base of Haley Peak, the highest point in the beautiful Wichita Mountains. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the mountains and wide-open plains, with some of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. It's a real working ranch with horses and cattle that you'll be able to see in the nearby corrals. The area is also rich with wildlife, so don't be surprised if you see deer, elk, bison and wild turkeys.
Whether you're planning a family getaway, a romantic escape, or a celebration like a reunion or birthday, Haley Ranch is the perfect setting. Newly renovated, the home blends rustic charm with modern comfort and sleeps up to 9 guests. Two large living areas give you room to settle in, relax and stretch out. One is anchored by a cozy fireplace and the other is made for movie nights and includes a new memory foam sofa bed. There’s two inviting bedrooms with new double beds along with a queen and twin XL bed located off the side for the larger living room. Outside, a new propane grill and fire pit make it easy to cook, mingle, and unwind with postcard views by day and stars for galaxies at night.
Haley Ranch is more than a scenic landscape; it preserves a place where Native American communities lived for generations, where the 1833 Cutthroat Gap conflict became part of its lasting history, and where the Haley family has long welcomed Kiowa visitors who continue to honor its cultural significance.
Our ranch hand and his family live on the property in a separate house and are usually out of sight working, but they're available if you ever need anything.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS AND FOOD. **We are a fairly remote location and suggest bringing in food to cook.
Spend the day exploring the nearby Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, strolling the cobblestone streets of Medicine Park, grabbing a famous burger at Meers, trying your luck at Elk Creek Kiowa Casino or boating on Tom Steed Reservoir. History and military buffs can head to Fort Sill, and rock climbers will find some of Oklahoma's best granite minutes away.
Tom Steed Reservoir / Great Plains State Park — 10 miles, your closest This is the one right in your backyard, inside Great Plains State Park near Mountain Park. Reviews highlight it as a quiet, well-kept spot good for boating and fishing, with a lighted boat ramp, swim area, and camping. One reviewer mentioned the Golden Belle's mineral/mining site nearby as worth checking out too — could be relevant given your own interest in Haley Ranch's mineral rights potential. Water levels fluctuate seasonally though, so it's worth checking conditions before a visit.
Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge — 35 miles A free, sprawling refuge full of free-roaming bison, longhorns, elk, and prairie dogs, with granite peaks like Mt. Famous for its massive longhorn burgers (locally raised beef, served on oversized buns) and homemade cobbler, it's a true Oklahoma institution worth the trip. Open Thursday–Sunday only, so plan ahead — and bring an appetite.
The Holy City of the Wichitas — 33 miles This is one of Oklahoma's most unique historic sites.
