This was a fantastic out of the way cabin. While the owners are close by the trees makes it feel very isolated and quiet. The river is right there and accessible. The space was tranquil and wonderful for our family.
What a beautiful, quiet little cabin in the woods. We had a wonderful time, the hot tub was perfect, my dog loved napping in front of the fire. Will absolutely keep this place in mind for another visit!
This stay couldn't have been better. An absolute gem! We loved the privacy of the cabin, with views all around of the tops of mountains. The hot tub was amazing, and we loved getting to explore the surrounding area (river and the woods). It was so clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. Grant and Antoinette were amazing hosts, and we couldn't be more happy with this place. Hoping to come back and stay again!
If you are looking for a getaway in the Rockies, Riverhouse is the perfect match. You are off the beaten track but still close enough to Golden for dining or stocking up on groceries. Right behind the house you‘ll find a picture-postcard landscape of Blaeberry River with just you in it. The hot tub is an extra which we happily made use of late in the evening despite the warm temperatures. The fireplace with enough firewood supply (thanks Grant!) and, of course, the cabin with breathtaking views, which is completely equipped, simply adds to this amazing holiday experience. Highly recommended - 10 out of 10.
Had a wonderful time and hope to come back again someday. We were greeted by beautiful hummingbirds and magnificent views. The fire place was very cozy and the hot tub relaxing. We enjoyed a few excursions like the Golden Sky Bridges and Northern Lights Wolf center. Both were very close and a lovely drive through the woods. Restaurants and the grocery store in Golden were easy to find and all we needed. If you are light sensitive bring a face mask as the shades are not totally black out. We loved the peacefulness and the ease of checkin and out.
Everything is well layed out. Bring some good shoes to walk around the river rocks and some bug spray. You will have everything you need if you bring your own food. Laundry is an added bonus if you are staying more than a few days.Talk to the hosts. They are exceptional and can point you in the direction of neat things to do in the area.
The cabin was a magical experience and we had an amazing stay. It reminded me of home and was a relaxing and clean place to relax after a day of adventures.
This place was so much more than we were expecting! Just what we needed. Peaceful, quiet and so beautiful inside and outside. Beds were so comfortable we all slept better than we had in ages. We wanted snow for Christmas and wow, we got it! Beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised owners had even gone above and beyond with lights, decorations and yes, a Christmas tree! Highly recommend staying here, we will be back in the summer!
It was a very private cute cabin with all the amentities of home. It was very nice getting back from our national parks adventures to a very quiet and stress free part of Golden.
We could not have been happier with our stay at the river house. Our host and hostess were phenomenal. If you are coming to Golden and looking for a nice, secluded vacation spot, then look no further. This is the perfect stay.
This is a beautiful home! They had a ton of touches that were nice to have. Hosts were great. It was super warm at night and a fan in the summer would be nice.

About the host
Hosted by Grant and Antoinette
We are a couple who work in Calgary but play in Golden. Golden is a short commute from Calgary and this property allows us to enjoy everything the mountains have to offer.
In the winter we can go skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, or strap on our cross country skis and headed out for a day of touring from the deck.
In the summer we can drive up the road 7km for a beautiful day hike to a gorgeous waterfall. Or we can grab our fishing rods and step off the deck into the Blaeberry River.
Why they chose this property
This property was purchased because it is a location where we can play all year round. We love the fact that this cabin is the only rental cabin on the property and we are surrounded by 8 acres of wooded seclusion. This allows us to get away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary, AB and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
We love to sit on the deck in the evenings with friends/family and listen to the Blaeberry River or in the mornings drink a cup of coffee and watch the sun light up the beautiful Purcell mountains just outside the door step.
What makes this property unique
The best part of this property is that it allows us and everyone who stays with us to enjoy the complete seclusion of the Mountains, and yet is so close to all the mountain adventures that Golden has to offer. It truly is a place to get away from it all!
