Yard needed cleaned up.Window's should be cleaned. Those were a couple things that could be done.We enjoyed our stay and would come back again for sure.
The historic home is large and suitable for a family or group. It is located in a busy neighborhood, so be prepared for city sounds. The home does not have central AC, but the owners did bring some extra fans for us. We had plenty of space to hang out together, and it was very comfortable. It was good to have off street parking for 2 cars and outdoor seating in the backyard and front porch.
The pictures do not do it justice! This is a spacious, charming, old house. The rooms were so much bigger than expected. It has all the quirks of an old house; creaky floors, doors that stick, etc. But everything is functional. The neighborhood is quiet but there is a bus stop and ambulance depot nearby as well as street lights at night. If you live in a city, you wouldn't even notice. But a white noise machine and sleep mask is all you need.Everything we saw in town was less than 15 minutes away. McDonald's and Walmart nearby if you forgot to pack something. The location was perfect. There were lots of amenities we didn't even need to use. This truly is a home away from home.
Property is in a great location for downtown and at a good price. This is a newer listing and I believe some of the information should be updated to help people better assess if the property is correct for them. The walking path to the back door entrance is not level and can be difficult to navigate if anyone has balance or mobility issues. The house was not lit well. A number of fixtures were not functional or were missing light bulbs. (We did not contact the owner to have it corrected, but worked around it.) The house is quirky in a way you would expect with an older home. The staircase steps are steeper in some areas than others. There is significant street noise adds from a very busy neighborhood location. Bring ear plugs or a white noise machine to help with that. We didn’t use the kitchen, so can’t report on that. The outside area is mowed, but flower beds and ivy growing on the side of the house need maintenance. It was very nice having parking in the driveway. All bedrooms are upstairs and the newer bathroom with a walk in shower is down about 5 stairs. The pluses outweigh the negatives, but this isn’t a house for everyone. Yes, we would stay there again.
Nice Historic house that seems to be in a good neighborhood, we didn't spend alot of time there check out the local area. This house was stocked well with everything needed to make our stay pleasant.
