This historic Frisian house is the former sexton’s house in Althorsbüll. The charming, thatched-roof Frisian house can accommodate up to 6 people.
Inside the house, there is a small, separate apartment on the ground floor. This offers the luxury of being able to holiday together with grandparents, friends, or neighbors. Here, you’re physically separate yet still very close—exactly as much as you’d like.
The ground floor is fully equipped with underfloor heating and is wheelchair-accessible.
Your dogs are also very welcome here!
The location
Within walking distance of the house are a beautiful swimming lake and a trout pond for anglers. Just a few steps from the house, you’ll find the old Hinterdeich, where you can take long walks.
From Althorsbüll, it’s about 3.0 km to the official Südwesthörn swimming area (with a sunbathing lawn; swimming depends on the tides). You’ll find a small supermarket, a bakery, and restaurants in Klanxbüll, 4 km away. Niebüll is about 12 km away.
Horsbüll is part of the municipality of Emmelsbüll-Horsbüll and is ideally located for your outings:
- You can reach Sylt in 20 minutes—it’s 4 km to Klanxbüll, from where you can take the train to Westerland, or you can travel by car on the Sylt Shuttle from Niebüll.
Please note that dogs not travelling in a carrier must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle.
- Discover the world of North Frisia’s islands and Halligs.
From Dagebüll—about a 15-minute drive away—you can take ferry trips to the islands of Amrum, Föhr, and the Halligs (departing from Schüttsiel).
The official dog-friendly beach is also located in Dagebüll.
- Experience the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site barefoot and up close through a variety of interesting, guided mudflat hikes
- The Danish border is only 10 km away. Here, we recommend not only enjoying an authentic Danish pølser but also taking a trip to Møgeltønder to visit Schackenborg Castle with its impressive castle gardens. Please note Denmark’s entry requirements if you’re planning this trip with your dog.
- Discover the Baltic Sea as well: A trip to the beautiful fjord city of Flensburg is always worth it!
- The Nolde Museum is a 15-minute drive away.
