Large Group Space Slopeside at Winterplace Ski Resort

Highlander I Chalet will accommodate up to 22 people in beds. See bedroom layout description below.

There is an identical cabin next door for more space or larger parties.

This 3 level chalet offers over 3,000 square feet of well maintained, ski in ski out, lodging at Winterplace ski resort.

There are 6 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 3 full baths, 2 washer/dryer and 2 full kitchens.

This is a great set up for large groups or multi family groups looking for open comfortable space with great access to the slopes and beautiful views. This house is NOT for large parties, college groups, or events. See rental policies for details.

This house is also a short distance from the New River Gorge National Park - whitewater rafting, climbing, biking. 15- 20 minutes from the Grandview area of the Park and 30-40 minutes from the NRG bridge/Fayetteville area.

This property is located right alongside one of the beginner ski runs close to a chairlift. Winterplace offers 27 trails, nine lifts (two quads) a snow tubing park and night skiing until 10:00 PM.

Winter Place Ski resort is Conveniently located off Interstates 64 & 77 at Flat Top (Ghent) West Virginia elevation 3252.

Summer Vacation Rental available for groups and families seeking an affordable cabin near whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking or rock climbing.

Our houses are slope side ski rentals at Winterplace ski resort December through Mid March and affordable family adventure homes spring through fall. We are surrounded by outdoor adventure opportunities. Come enjoy a WV adventure while staying in our affordable homes.

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our stay! This was our family’s 2nd time staying. The house was clean and great. We were bummed about the fireplaces not working. But we will definitely book here again. Great location and easy for a large family to manage skiing with children of all ages.

Great Ski Week in Winterplace

The Chalet has a perfect location in Winterplace Ski Resort. It is located on the slopes at the bottom of a beginner trail and short walking distance to the ski resort center, which makes it very convenient to purchase your lift tickets, rentals or take you younger ones to the ski school. The chalet is well maintained and very spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are comfortable. We all had a wonderful stay in this chalet and we plan to come back.

Overall a great stay. Only complaints at all were that the grass was over knee high and some of the outdoor furniture was very flimsy. Other than that we were all very pleased.

I couldn't have asked for a better rental than this property. I'm always worried about a place I have reserved but upon first walk of the 3-level property, my mind was put to ease. It was a perfect spot for our large family group to get together and spend quality time with one another. Before coming, I messaged the property owner with several questions and the response was timely and helpful. I would most definitely rent this place again if given the opportunity. the opportunity. most most defina again.

Location - Location

Some members of our group (21) were first time skiers so location was important to us. The location is absolutely wonderful! The home accommodated our large family very well. The kitchens were reasonably stocked. The home is clean with the exception of the ovens. The fire pit is a nice added touch. The mattresses are in good condition and that's important as well. We did have some issue with waiting for hot water at bath time but that's to be expected with a large group. There was nothing to prevent us from renting again, actually we can't wait until next season. . The owners and the property managers are prompt, professional, and concerned. Thanks guys!

Do not recommend !

House was very basic and quite used. Railings on decking were missing, appliances were old, furniture and rugs very old and dirty. Very limited use of water, and bottled water wasn’t easy to find. Shopping was challenging . Location of house on slopes was a plus but the house really wasn’t comfortable. Fireplace wasn’t working and bbq was poor quality as well. Kitchen pots and pans were gross! I would not recommend this house with young families.

Awesome Place

Property was just as listed. Quick responses from owner about places to get groceries and questions about house prior to arrival. We took our extended family and friends here for the week, everybody had a blast. House had enough room for everybody to sleep and hangout! You can walk straight across one trail to enter Winterplace Ski Lodge to rent and return ski equipment. Would defiantly book again! Side Note: House dont provide bath towels and wash rags but there are several nearby Dollar Generals to grab some!

Great location. Very clean and nice place. Parking is difficult if it snows or they make snow for the slopes. It creates a lot of ice in the parking area. It was difficult to park with out snow chains because my Suburban slid all over the place. It snowed 2 out of the 4 days we stayed. They could benefit from putting salt out every day to help with this.

Great Ski Trip

We had five families with a ton of kids and this house is perfect. We skied morning, afternoon and night, hung out by the fire and everyone had a bed. Great ski-in/ski-out location and we love everything Winterplace! See you next year!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at The Highlander. We had plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably the place was extremely clean and the backyard Access to the ski in and out helped with a large group. No need to lug everything and everyone in the truck back and forth. We will definitely be staying here again in The future!

In our view the chalet’s greatest strength is its easy access. Located just of Interstate 64/77, the parking area is large and convenient, the skiing is a step off the deck, access to world-class outdoor fun is minutes away, rafting, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking in the Fayetteville & New River Gorge area. Shopping and amenities are nearby, and the ski resort lodge is a short walk right across from the Chalet.
