About the host
Hosted by Kathy Jepsen
As the hosts of Jepsen's Island House, Bob and Kathy Jepsen, we would like to welcome you to our island home. Bob's family has roots on Washington Island and we always dreamed of owning an island home "someday" when we were just a young couple with 5 children vacationing on the island. Now that we are empty nesters our "someday" has become a reality. Both sets of Bob's grandparents lived on the island and his parents were both raised on the island. His maternal grandparents were Harold and Arbutus Greenfeldt. Harold was a commercial fisherman by trade and Arbutus served as the town mayor for a number of years. You will see pictures of his grandfather in the Jackson Harbor/fishing bedroom as well as on the wall at Jackson Harbor Soup restaurant as that building is where he used to work on fishing nets. Bob's paternal grandparents were Marvin and Gudrun Jepsen. His parents were Bob and Susan Jepsen. The only remaining family on the island full time are his aunt and uncle, Jim and Marsha Gunnlaugsson. We hope you enjoy your stay and all the sights and sounds of the island while you are making memories with your family and friends.
Why they chose this property
There is so much to see of the island:
The Lavender Farm, Jackson Harbor, museums, Schoolhouse Beach, Ferry boats, and even beyond the main island by ferry to Rock Island State Park.

What makes this property unique
Our large family style home, with lots of space to enjoy your stay, is my favorite part of our island destination. With a large family it was always difficult to stay in traditional hotel/motel rooms as most do not accomodate a family with 5 children. Having a large home to spread out makes a huge difference in the quality of a vacation. Whether you are vacationing with your own family or families or a gathering of friends we hope you will enjoy the home as much as we do.
