We came to Island Park for a small bachelorette weekend for my upcoming wedding. The house was perfect size for us, we made a beautiful homemade meal and got to relax in the hot tub and watch movies. Perfect relaxing weekend getaway!
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Since it was just the 2 of us, we didn't use the entire cabin to its full potential, but loved all the aspects we did use! The kitchen is well stocked and we made dinner there 2 of the 3 nights that we stayed. The outdoor grill was a must have for us on this trip and it worked well. The location was great- we spent 1 entire day in Yellowstone which was an easy drive. We spent another full day in Island Park where we rented a side by side and just explored. We were looking for something secluded when we booked this. There are other houses nearby but they definitely don't feel close at all and it was very quiet during our stay. Overall we had a very relaxing trip and this cabin checked all the boxes I was looking for.
Our family loved the cabin, Hickory Inn. It was everything that was expected. However, if anyone in you family has allergies to pine trees or mold, the outside setting of the cabin will not be good for their allergies. My youngest son was sick the whole time we were at the cabin due to the damp area and pine trees where Hickory Inn was located.
Property was summarized well. Had a non-working water line before check-in but property management got it fixed and gave us a late check out. Hot tub jets only work on one side. Other than that things were great.
Owners directions were perfect got us right to the house very spacious log home with everything you need in kitchen & baths Pillows and bed need to be more comfortable and maybe more tv selection. Love the house
Very nice, large house for our use. Not the one we had reserved but met all expectations. Called by property manager day before arrival notifying us that there was a problem with the one we had rented. They offered us an upgraded lodge, Tanglewood. Thank you. Plenty of space, very clean. Great location to visit Yellowstone from. Kitchen very well outfitted except for not enough glasses and frying pans need replaced. Make sure you bring your own toiletry items as none were provided. No directions for the hot tub, fireplace or TV system.
The place was clean and sparkling. Overall it was a good stay. The house is huge with great amenities. They provide towels and cutlery. We also got the message that the water was probably unsafe for drinking after we paid for the stay.
The bathrooms were clean but I found ants and what I think was a wasp in the bathroom, I have pictures. The place is around 45 minutes from the west gate, not 30. The hot tub wasn't working. We were given notice of water shutting off 20 minutes prior. So two of us couldn't bathe that day. The shower on the upper floor wasn't great either; it had low pressure that was irritating.
There was construction right outside the house that kind of ruined the place's vibe.
When you walk in, the open concept is awesome - a great place for group dinners. Then it goes downhill. The main kitchen, great room and first floor bath were in pretty good shape. One bedroom upstairs was gross. It had extra mattresses leaning against the wall, extra old (like 30 year old) blankets thrown in heaps above a wardrobe, under the bed there were several dryers sheets and tons of dust bunnies, the corners of the room had hair and dust bunnies. The shower door trim in the bath upstairs had black mold on the bottom. The other bed upstairs wasn't as bad, but corners had dust bunnies and hair. Bedroom downstairs has this platform with plumbing like something had been removed. Kitchen was fairly well stocked, but it looks like no one ever tidies up the cabinets - there were old bags and receipts and things just kindof thrown in cabinets. The TV area had a shelf with some DVDs, there were several remotes without batteries, not sure what they went to. The key is attached to the lock box keypad - and I couldn't get the keypad to go back in (yes I've used lock boxes before). Texted the number for suggestions, never got a response. Fortunately my nephew was able to get it back together before we left.

Nice place but not the cleanest
Very cute beautiful cabin. When we arrived we reached out to the property manager asking a question and they never responded and still haven’t.
The beds had pebbles and hair on them. The kitchen counter had crumbs and sticky stuff. The rug had dorito crumbs everywhere. My husband and I, the first thing we did, was vacuum and clean.
It’s interesting that you pay a cleaning fee but the place wasn’t the cleanest.
We messaged them after our trip again letting them know that we enjoyed our stay but it wasn’t super clean. It’s been two weeks and they still haven’t reached back out.
Lovely place, just not the best communication or cleanliness.

Roads to cabin not motorcycle friendly.
We enjoyed our stay. However, the hot tub jets weren’t fully operative. The roads to the house are dirt and full of potholes so tread carefully if on a motorcycle. Bring your own body soap. Everything else was ok.
The Hickory Inn was a beautiful cabin, well furnished and comfortable. The little game tables and hottub were a fun addition and kept us enjoying the cabin a little longer instead of rushing out to adventure always. We did go into Yellowstone 3 of 4 days, and the travel back to the cabin was tolerable, about 35 minutes. There was quite a bit of these big black wasps, especially in the upper restroom, which terrified my kids, but I guess bugs are a part of living in the woods. Overall great experience.

good
Our stay was good but cleaning crew not so good, dishwasher was full, 1/2" of lint on dryer filter and shelves in bedroom were gross with dust and dirt.
We loved the cabin. Hot tub was great and the foosball and air hockey were fun. We saw a moose right by the fire pit the second night there. It was only about 35-40 minutes to get to the west entrance to Yellowstone and that was perfect.
Clean, Affordable, Good Location, Spacious, amenities as advertised. The hot tub was a real plus. Our kids liked the Foosball and air hockey tables. We had a few small issues that were quickly resolved by Alexa. A great stay for our adventures in Yellowstone.
Very cozy stay. Clean, comfy, relaxing and lived in. Highly recommend.
While it's a bit of a drive from Yellowstone (hour and a half or so), it has some good trails nearby. Nice quiet location and the cabin itself is awesomem. Hot tub, grill, plenty of sleeping space. Recommend veing
No problems with the renting process nor the stay.
