Welcome to the “Kleine Auszeit” holiday rental in Berkatal-Hitzerode, right in the heart of the Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Nature Park (Meissner, Werratal, Kaufunger Wald) and close to the Green Belt.

Berkatal—with the districts of Frankershausen, Frankenhain, and Hitzerode—lies at the foot of the Hoher Meißner (753 m) and is characterised by extensive forests and stream valleys.
The Hie and Kripplöcher, with their typical juniper heath and wild orchids in the surrounding Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Nature Park, are definitely worth seeing.

Hitzerode—centrally located between Bad Sooden-Allendorf and Eschwege—is an ideal starting point for a stroll through the two historic half-timbered towns; the towns of Hann. Münden, Bad Hersfeld, Eisenach (Wartburg), Kassel, and Göttingen are also not far away.

Your relaxation in the fresh forest and mountain air begins right outside the front door—an ideal starting point for hiking, walking, power walking, biking, and excursions to lakes and ponds, natural landmarks, and the nearby mountain wildlife park in the village of Germerode.
There are also geocaching caches for enthusiasts.
For the little ones, there’s a playground in the immediate vicinity.

Our 94 m² ground-floor holiday apartment was completed in February 2020—with an eye for “maritime” details and the desire to offer you a cosy home away from home for your holiday. The German Tourism Association has already awarded the apartment a 4-star rating for the second time.

With two separate bedrooms featuring two large box-spring beds, it is suitable for 4 adults or 2 adults with 2 children.

You’ll find a fully equipped, spacious kitchen-living room with a dining area, a living room, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a sauna (for a fee).
In our garden, you’ll find a comfortable seating area, lounge chairs, a beach chair, and a grill.

To explore the area, we offer two e-mountain bikes (for a fee) as well as walking poles for rent; parking spaces are available right outside the door.

Wi-Fi and the local daily newspaper are available to you free of charge.
