When I saw this house, I offered to lead my three sisters, age 65 to 73, stay at my house and I stay there instead. “Spooky” what was the first word out of anyone’s mouth. The driveway wasn’t marked, the lawn was knee-deep, and there were two abandoned vehicles, one a huge camper we weren’t all that sure was unoccupied in the lot and one of them had two dead trees hanging over it that appeared about ready to fall. A torn up dog kennel was behind the house on the other side. The stair rail was wrapped with Christmas lights that someone got poked into their hand right away, and it wiggled. The house indoors was clean and well furnished, although one of the beds was 6 inches off the floor and the other was in an open space where there were no doors. None of the rooms had curtains, including the bedrooms. There were four towels for four adults for two days. The clothes dryer lint filter was jammed with clogs that one sister removed. But it still took over two hours to dry a pair of jeans. There was no Wi-Fi but to be honest, I don’t know if it said in the ad that there was no Wi-Fi.To be honest, this house could be a great rental if the owners would clean up the lot and maybe paint the porch and railing. One of my sisters did ask if I could offer to do the mowing every month and get a free day so if they came back next summer and they could stay there under better circumstances. Um, I don’t do yard work. But 500 for two days under those conditions was ridiculous.
