Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the park's name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape.
Cadalic Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Rising high above the town of Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain offers magnificent views of the Porcupine Islands and Frenchman Bay. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.

Lovely camp right on the lake! Very clean, feels classic but new, excellent communication with the super friendly and helpful owner. Would definitely stay here again if we’re ever back downeast.

The loons on the water was awesome. The view from the cabin couldn't be better. Nice location with nice neighbors nearby.
This was our 2nd year at this property and once again it didn't disappoint. Thanks again Josh for another terrific stay and your quick responses to all our requests!
Place looks exactly like photos. We loved it! Lake view and access in back of house, opportunity to use kayaks and canoe, firepit, grill, everything you need for your stay. Would stay again.
We had a wonderful time staying at your lake house with a family of 2 adults and two 12 year old boys. We had plenty of swimming, fishing, and kayaking in the beautiful clean lake. Having firewood available made for a relaxing and easy evening for making fire and eating s'mores. We all really enjoyed A1 relics antique shop for one of our rainy day. we just love the sound of the loons and the sensational sky view. The host, Josh, was available and responsive to any questions I had during my trip. Thank you for making our stay fabulous! I look forward to trying some of your other rentals in the future.
Overall from the ease of a last minute stay, to checkin process, to cleanliness of the property and absolute amazing stay. I would recommend this place!
The cabin was extremely clean and had all the supplies you need. The house is a direct walkout to the lake and perfect for spending the day paddling, swimming etc. Very peaceful at night with the loons calling. Our family with two teens loved it.
This was such a great pick for our family. Beautiful view, all the toys you need for lake living. Though it is a longer drive than we thought to everything, it was still a great place. Quiet, serene and a beautiful sunrise every morning.
Had a great time! Nice to wake up on the water, go kayaking & listen to the Loons. Went to Acadia NP several times during the week & there’s stores close by if needed. Would definitely go back!
This is our third year staying at this cabin. We absolutely love it, and honestly the only reason that we wouldn’t continue to stay that I can think of is if we eventually bought our own place on this lake. Josh is great to work with, very responsive. The cabin is always super clean (I am absolutely a hotel snob, so this is exceedingly high praise coming from me!) Hands down the cleanest lake property I’ve ever been in. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay (including a dishwasher), and the grounds are kept up nicely. Air conditioning works great, as does the tankless hot water heater. And if you want to rent a boat, Josh can hook you up with that too. Definitely give this place 10/10
Very clean and modern home - all the amenities. Plenty of outdoor space for meals and an evening fire with the family. (Stacks and stacks of firewood provided by owner.) Owner also provided rental of a pontoon boat which fully upgrades the lake experience - terrific! Responsive and engaging property owner. We will certainly stay here again.
The cabin was pristine, the lake was clean and warm, and the location was fantastic! We will absolutely be back!
Side note: while you feel like you’re away from it all (enjoy the absolute silence in the evenings!) Instacart does deliver there…so you don’t need to trudge into town and lose lake time getting those random forgotten items.
This camp was perfect! The view and lake access were amazing and we had a camp fire nightly. My husband caught a 15” smallmouth bass off the dock and my mom loved reading her book by the water. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are less than an hour drive. The camp was beautiful inside, very clean, and included everything needed…even complementary s’more supplies. Our dog took many naps on the dock.
This is one of the most stocked kitchens of a rental I've ever experienced. My husband and I enjoy cooking when away and were very pleased to have access to all the kitchen tools. The knives were actually sharp which has never been the case. We bought fresh lobsters in town and did our own lobster rolls which was possible due to the stocked kitchen. Coffee filters and grounds were available as well as some local craft beers in the fridge, which my husband enjoyed. The views in the morning are tough to beat and the nightly fires in the fire pit were truly memorable. We came during fall break for the colors and hikes in Acadia and could not have timed it better. The changing leaves were absolutely stunning. The drive to Bar Harbor/Acadia was slightly longer than I anticipated but definitely worth it to stay away from town on the lake. Our last trip to Maine we stayed minutes away from Acadia which was nice for short rides into the park but it didn't compare to being secluded with water views. I would recommend this property to anyone! The beds were comfortable, the environment was cozy and welcoming, the views obviously stunning, and the host was great.
This is the second time we’ve stayed in one of Josh’s properties. The house was spotless when we arrived. Fully equipped with all you could need - canoe, kayaks, pots and pans, dishwasher. Bedding was nice and plenty of towels. Property was quiet - especially during the week. We watched the loons and bald eagles daily. Our golden retriever loved swimming in the lake and chasing frisbees off of the dock.
We have been booking through VRBO for years and I believe this is the top property we have rented. When we first saw the property it is evident that The Greer's have much pride in their properties. The house was immaculate and all touches are first class. There was not one thing we needed that wasn't already provided. We loved hanging out on the dock and the wildlife was fantastic! My son and grand daughter loved the kayaks and canoe. I would highly recommend this property for any vacation!
We were very pleased with our trip to the Beech Hill pond property. The house is adorable and was clean and well stocked upon our arrival. The pond is clear and large. We enjoyed 3 days on a pontoon boat that we rented from Josh, who delivered it right to the dock and even showed us the ins and outs of the lake. He was a great host and very easy to communicate with. It was cool to watch bald eagles and seaplanes flying over the pond.
Acadia NP, Cadillac mountain and Bar Harbor were an easy drive away and made for fun day trips. Thanks Josh! We would definitely return to one of your properties!
